ZeroPi (Sarah Leo on violin and Marco Negro on keyboards, programming and mixing) is a duo playing instrumental 80s synth pop - new new wave original tracks, covers of some great eighties classics (Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, Ultravox, Yazoo, A-ha and more) and revisited traditional Irish tunes.
All the sequencing is done on hardware gear, just because it's more fun! 😉

Yamaha QY700, Novation Circuit, Roland Juno 2, Waldorf Streichfett, Waldorf Pulse 2, Vermona Mono Lancet, Arturia Minibrute.
Mixer/FX/other stuff: Allen & Heath Zed R-16, Korg SDD-3000 pedal, t.bone RM 700 ribbon microphone, JoeMeek sixQ, Sound Skulptor STS.

Carpenter always said he saw Escape as a ‘western’ movie (casting Lee Van Cleef, and Kurt Russell putting on his best Clint Eastwood act). Now that I hear the theme song played on violin, I can definitely see where it could just as easily have been the theme for a classic Western movie! Carpenter is a genius 😎👍

Ich kann da gar nicht genug von bekommen,..dass geht runter wie Öl!!! Zumal dies mein Lieblingsfilm ist und ich auch selbst Filmmusik in Richtung JohnCarpenter produziere! Das Habt ihr echt Klasse produziert...Die Violine, gibt dem ganzen einen Gewissen touch! ;)

This has me wondering what it would sound like with violin, piano, and tamborine. I suspect it may not be able to keep the same dark, heavy presence as with the electronic keyboard but I have to wonder what a fully translated "western movie" (unplugged version) would sound like.
Somebody should definitely try that!

Let me tell you my real life story. My father took me to see this film and is one of my favorites of the period including _The Warriors_ and _The Final Countdown._ I see The Twin Towers in the background and spoke about my experience 20 years after September 11, 2001 and 10 years prior as well. I have some original footage on my channel as proof. An elder lady in my church reminded me that I made an impression on her over a year later. I was uplifted by her statement never expecting that she would remember. In other words, I just realized I really did escape from New York and wanted to share this story.
