Really looks fantastic. I'm sure you're proud, not only of building it yourself, but that it came out so nice. It really looks gorgeous, and very homey.
All the folks griping that it's not a "how to" video, well maybe not in the typical sense, but i learned a lot.. Very nice job.. The only question I have is; how tall are the exterior walls to allow for headroom in the loft?
Nice critter housing in winter in floor. I i would have used icf block . a porch floor exposed to weather will rot. Seperate framing so it can be replaced. Seperately. 2 foot overhang to protect walls and foundation and gutters.
Doubt critters will invade that floor. Porch looks to be treated lumber so should last a long time if maintained. 2 foot overhang on roof is extreme, Industry standard is a foot. Gutters are a fools game.
Curious how you tackle water in with this type of foundation? I'm wanting to do something that I know I can build versus having a foundation or slab poured.
if you had the chance to do it again would you lay down house wrap over the skids before placing the rim boards and floor joists to cut down on ground moisture....
That's a beautiful cabin, it's good to see he whole family getting involved. You guys are pro's. The person taking the video did a great job also, it's amazing what a tripod can do.
Cool cabin, but... My biggest (only) complaint is that the cabin is built right on the ground. Virtually NO crawl space and I don't see how you were able to insulate the floor. Running cables, phone lines, plumbing, etc is nearly impossible. Too bad that the sono tubes weren't about a foot and a half higher...
Nice place, good size porch, most people build them too small.. Too many cabiny decorations just makes it look cheesy to me, makes it loo like everyone else's place.....JMO. Great build though, you know what you're doing.
Figure 80.00 sq ft, labour not included....around 24,000.00 if you include loft floor area. That's just a ball park figure as there are too many factors that we don't know.....based on an average 2500sq' home costing from 150 and up....labour included.

As a film maker I brought out my red pencil. The animation was too much. Interior shots were all detailed closeups. It needed some inside wide shots for balance. Before you get too worked up because of my negative comments, which are directed at the cinematic effort, the cabin itself is wonderful. I loved it. It reminds me of my grandparents lake cabin where I spent summers as a kid. Thumbs up on the cabin, a job well done.
Wow... !!! My best friend, Great... We liked and enjoyed to the end. Thanks Have a happy day!

Looks awesome! Im also building a cabin on my channel
You could have got by with half the studs, joists, and rafters. Were you having to meet code?
Sterling Price he probably had to meet code, I see a main road behind it, electric meter etc
this is exactly what I want on my land for myself my daughter and my son I love it and the mini wood stove omg!!!!!
lovely job , a credit to you
What product did you use to substitute Sheetrock?
Which cement is better for roof?
Very nice!

How much did you have into this at the time of the build?

I didn’t notice you use insulation for the floor… or did I miss it?
Very cool video and excellent workmanship!

A work of art.
Good video ! What was the cost on to build this ?
How much? Im looking to make a cheap house to live in on property please.:)
What type of foundation is that?
Can you do it again but turn down the suck?
Im in love.
I dont understand why you put the woodstove so high of the floor ON the bloks and not the other way round for thermal mass .All the rest is WOW
How much did putting the foundation cost? Great video
awesome cabin, yes in deed....
Awesome!!!!!!!!!
very nice cabin! can you tell me where you got your small wood stove from or what model is it?
Down in the comments someone said it's called 'the hobbit' 👍
What did you do under the floor joists? Was that insulation also a vapor barrier?
GREAT JOB! how much did it cost for all the wood, just the frame of the house?
Yeah, great job! what kind of wood was used on the interior? t&g cedar? pine? Thanks!
This video would of been perfect if they had told us how much it cost

Very well done with great attention given to all the little details. I'm just curious, though, where does that toilet drain to?

I'm impressed.......
Did you vent the ceiling?
Showed this to the loan officer. They said they can't lend me 100,000 dollars to build my dream shed
In the year 2024 it would probably be $200,000
Soo cool
