What do you think of the 2024 rankings? Are there any home ratings you disagree with? Any additional metrics I should consider? Let me know your thoughts!
There's a guy in my guild First Start who has completely decked out a small home with everything you could need. Like an entire guild hall crammed into a house-house. And he did it all doing free to play.
Honorable mention inn room: Mara's Kiss Public House, Vulkhel Guard, Auridon. Yes, the door is inside a building, but it's literally three steps from the outside door, which in turn is three steps from the wayshrine. As an extra benefit, the Impresario pavilion is a very short run to the north. If you don't have access to Rimmen, I would argue that this is probably the best inn room available.
I definitely agree, though sometimes I chalk it up to nostalgia since Mara's Kiss was my first house. But I can navigate the Vulkhel Guard with my eyes closed and it has decent city amenities. Plus those base game zones do load just a bit faster I think.
the first thing I did when they introduced those master stations was change my primary to the gardner's house in Stormhaven. You can walk out the door and turn in the master writs in seconds.
You mentioned being able to turn in master writs from one of the homes but NOT when you were talking about Snugpod. You just do a right and cross the bridge and there's where you turn in your writs
Very true! Also my go-to for master writ turn-ins just because of all the other reasons Snugpod is the GOAT. I think Gardner House is technically 3 steps closer, but it's also way more expensive and not really close to the Wayshrine etc. But Snugpod is definitely my #1.
@@Kalam0n I bought snugpod for just this reason: I do my writs in my guild's house which is a Psijic Manor and this way I can zone straight for handins out at no cost (which would be high because I've usually just zoned in). The good news? Because all of my homes are based around my characters and who they are (story brain), I came up with a new character from the house. I have drawn a lot of inspiration from your videos over the years, so thank you.
@@Kalam0n Oh good lord. Good luck with that! My most recent house (Strident Springs), I have used your stable tute and adapted the small one to make a wee pig shed. Lowered the roof a bit, added an ivy and it's so cute. :D
thanks for the spreadsheet man! didnt know that there are over 100 houses in eso, planning to start my housing journey after 1 yr of playing, i get this game free on epic and didnt expect to play it for hundreds of hrs.
The housing system is definitely a killer feature in ESO. When I started playing we didn't have precision edit, night/day control, houseguests, or a bunch of other stuff. I really love what ZOS has added over the last few years and I'm very optimistic for the future. The housing definitely keeps me playing.
I really appreciate your housing content! your decor ideas always keep me feeling inspired and motivated to work on some of my houses, thanks for spotlighting such a unique part of the game
Snugpod is also a great house for masterwrits. Easy access to the writ vendor and you can swim there if you have a bounty. I usually save my masterwrits to do when I have a bounty.
Great stuff! However, one small nit pick on your spreadsheet. You give Emissary Enclave a 3 for Outlaws Refuge access. It has an entrance/exit directly into the Necrom Outlaw's refuge and the Fence is only steps away from the exit/entrance. I use this all the time to dump stolen goods/remove bounties
Unrelated but also related. Starting the clockwork city quest from collections spawns a portal that takes you straight to Mournhold wayshrine/crafting area. You can do this from Cyrodiil, imp city, and sewers
i dont have high hallow hold, bc i already have the inn room in the one isle and galen ship to get to vastyr, same holds for the one in west weald, but i have all the other homes u mentioned and they are worth the gold
I personally love my Fair Winds Ship home. Utility wise, it allows me to fast travel to any of the three alliances with ease, which is great for getting around the map without paying gold to teleport. I use the Captain's Quarter's as my main's room, the cargo deck for a combat testing area, and the Crew's Quarters for all my crafting and other utility stations. Did it cost a lot? ABSOLUTELY! Worth it? In the long run, yes
I do like that one! The only reason I don't rate it higher is simply because you can't use it to port directly to those zones from outside the house. Love the views on the Fair Winds though!
Thank you! I'm forgetting the belt motif, but here's the rest: Shardborn Pauldrons, Kindred's Concord Jack, Deadlands Gladiator Gloves, Greymoor Breeches, Swordthane Shoes and the Companion's Revelry Bow.
For the Hall Of Lunar Champion , in reality, you don't even need to have the DLC or the ESO Plus, you just have to wait for the trial period of the ESO Plus itself, do the various quests and dungeons and then it will be permanently linked to the account. I do this with handbag accaunts. Sometimes it is convenient precisely because the exit is counted as a prewiev and is convenient for resetting surveys and treasure maps, just put it as primary to the second accounts
I absolutely love the housing system in ESO and I own several houses already, but sadly, I really suck at interiour decorating. I wish I didn't cuz there are so many cool houses I've seen that I wish I could make but I don't have that nose for decoration. Sadly.

I love the new vineyard house too because of that new windmill, and I can buy it with gold lol edit: I wish I could've bought it with gold FURNISHED.... I LOVE THE NEW PAINTINGS OMG 😭
If you're ever going to be buying any houses with crowns I would suggest either the fair winds or willowpond haven as they are the most unique and arguably beautiful houses. Most houses in ESO for some reason tend to be on the uglier side of thing's or just have a terrible layout for placing crafting stations and dummy's but both of these houses are thankfully neither.
I do like the aesthetics of Willowpond Haven. The Fair Winds also has the unique ability to exit to like 4 different towns, which is cool, but not anymore useful than just having actual houses in those zones since you still have to go into the house to exit to the zone you want - and you exit to the docks.
I think I have messed up. I have bought all the houses available for gold plus the earnable ones like Hall of the lunar champion, plus 4 crown store exclusive grand homes. I finished decorating Observatory Prior and am mostly finished decorating 4 homes But ran out of heartwood. So I bought 300,00. Ran out in 2 days. Have 20+ houses I haven’t started decorating. What can I do?
For larger homes I'll start with just decorating a portion of it. Drop my collectibles and maybe some cheap stuff until I have a plan. There are a number of furnishings you can purchase from the NPC furnishers that don't cost a ton, but they don't really sell furniture, just decor. It takes a long time to fully furnish a collection of homes like you have now!

Mr Kalam0n ranking again the houses based on utilities stats? Without see the video: Ok, let's go Kalam0n, hit me with your best shot! 1. Rimmen ─ Sugar Bowl: yeah whole agree. One of the best hub rooms in whole game. The tiny and useful space in all TESO. 2. Mournhold ─ Flaming Nix: I have 2 big issues with that apartment. a. The shape is awful [is a silly desing not related to building design, that's odd, the exterior curve wall is okay, but the inner curve wall is out of design]. b. I really don' like Mournhold design like capital city. But it is a good hub. 3. Elden Root ─ Snugpod: it was on my top ten but not anymore. Elden root design is the worst design for TESO capital cities. My gosh all there is so bad. Is not a real city, just a big tree with a lot of loading screens. Not houses to loot. I really hate this place now and i only use SnugPod cuz is the near point to master crafter rewards. Cormount or Haven designs are awesome but lost in game. No reasons to go there after you made quests. It is a shame foR those two cities better than capital. 4. Rawl´kha ─ Sleek Creek: this is the base house for my Khathief. It is just perfect. Not guards. Easy access to almost all utilities. Shrine can be accessed fast. Outlaw refugee access is smooth. Is related to one fest activity. 5. Wayrest - Gardner House: solid choice. Wayrest is the only one real capital city. It feels like one. Not that empty behemoth of Mournhold, or that pantagruelic unfriendly Elden Root tree. 6. Rimmen ─ Hall of Lunar Champion. Always in my heart. I have better houses but this one is always there for me. Whole agree. The only issue: get the aditional two tablets. 7. Gonfalon Bay - HighHallow: THE BEST OF THE BEST OF THE BEST HOUSES IN ALL GAME. The city design, the utilities, the access, the npcs, the harbour, the sun, the bells, etc. Is 1000% better than Mournhold or Elden Root. I won this house in a trader guild raflle. With Lunar Champion are my main houses. I can visit them several times in the same day when i play TESO. 8. Rose Wine: I am still evaluating this apartment. But i agree with you is a serious contender to dethrone Sugar Bowl. 9. Merryvine: My gosh. Ok i bought it cuz it had a good discount during Zen fest but we need be realistic: IS JUST ANOTHER HOUSE IN NOWHERE LAND. Yeah the design is awesome but the only reason to go there is for housing. Good selection. You left out two main houses in my opinion: Pilgrim's Regret and Water Edge. Leyawiin is a great city design, all is there in just three blocks. Another great ranking Mr. Kalam0n. My respect!
Love your breakdown! I do agree with you on Pilgrims' Rest and Water's Edge, two of my personal favorites, and up until the release of Gold Road, I was using Water's Edge to get back to Leyawiin for my Daily Writs. It's got a strong case for best large home for sure!
