$10 billion for just 5% of Xpeng? Seems a very low percentage for a highly promising company.
Great stuff.
I cannot believe it either and STILL dont believe it until proven true.
They don't make profit now so suddenly they do. Questionable data. Look at investanswers breakdown of the business from 3 days ago
For $16,000 USD, it's cheaper than 3rd handed used cars or a very high mileage mystery money pit.
@@MarksEscalona hi
My comment deleted for saying you sound a bit bias lol
@@loktom4068 Mu point is not the price of sale but the assertion that they’re making profit at those prices. I don’t believe it.

Volkswagen's investment is very good timing.
Nio fanboy here and owner of an ES6. Great vehicle and love it. However, we have an older ICE car sitting in our driveway pretty much rotting away. The Chinese government will give us 20,000 RMB if we turn in that car and buy a NEV. Xpeng Mona it is and will use it as a 2nd vehicle mainly for my Chinese father and Nephew to dive when needed.
Hatchback model 3! Yes.
This sounds like a win win Chinese production, electronics with VW chassis dynamics and worldwide footprint.

Wow-this really looks like the Car and price the Market has been waiting for! Hope we get them here in the UK but I guess VW will protect their markets??
VW is even not British
It’s cheaper because it’s McPherson strut and twist beam rear axle. And no provision for any rear or all wheel drive - only front drive.
The Renault Megane Sport shows this platform can handle very bloody well!!
Is it already on sale in Australia 🇦🇺?

How safe are they and what about quality
I'm calling BS. This is likely just a combination of limited batch launch pricing to drum up interest, the usual government subsidy and limited feature pack stripped down car. No such thing as a free lunch, someones going to be left holding the bag and wearing the real cost. Being domestic only they also cut the cost of shipping.
So you havent a clue. Just guesswork. Thanks for the contribution champ

I saw this in a web here in Spain
An EV company had 146000 pre orders in a day, for an EV truck that was advertised at half of the Cybertruck.
In China, if the manufacturer takes the order, it has to deliver or face a hefty penalty
When is this coming to Australia
You keep recommending cars by their specs only before they are even available. I thought you would have learned your lesson when you bought the Atto 3 by specs only and found it wasn't that good.
I own an Atto3, I say it's a good and comfy car
@@alfreedng I also love my BYD Atto 3. The best car I have owned.
Great content. Given the weight as mentioned, they must be using proprietary technology in their materials. ICE vehicles should have done this long time ago.
Bring it to Australia, I'll buy it at $39,990 drive away
😩 when are all those cars coming to the UK?
Unfortunately this car will never be available in USA
They said that about those unreliable rust buckets known as Japcrap if you remember.
Yes we are the lucky ones who get to pay twice as much for it what a deal for us
Yes it will through Mexico factories per NAFTA like all auto manufacturers selling in the US from their Mexico factories. BYD is already building in Mexico and buying dodge from stellantis
It can be available twice the price ofcourse.
Those cars will have 100% import tax and cost as much or more than a Tesla. They don't choose the amount by accident. Also this is heavily subsidized just to destroy the competition so China dominated the market in the future and destroys all foreign competitors
Will only be 16k in china, in the west it will be taxed 100 or 200% if need be to be inline with the competition. But it does look great in all black.
Evs prices in Western countries are too high. This is because of greedy manufacturers, importers, and governments. This is to keep people on oil for as long as possible. Because greed is good. Greed is right. Big cars give big profits.
Prices are high because wages are high. EVs are cheap in china because chinese manufactures make peanuts.
And they grow lots of peanuts too.
For 9 years I have been driving my VW Golf ... and it's the best car I've ever had and enjoy it so much! VW really know how to make passenger car, I think more so than Mercedes Benz or Tesla - and that's a bold statement. Having VW's investment and R&D sharing will be a win-win for both Xpeng and VW so that dieselgate can be finally put into the rearview for VW. I think I'll buy one, once released in my country and can see pricing with accuracy. To go from an ICE Golf to a Xpeng will be a huge jump in tech, for about the same money... brilliant value!
wow, scary. who wants a VW when you can have a more modern Xpeng at a better price?
Who wants an obsolete Volkswagen EV at double the price of an Xpeng? Only the idiots and VW tragics would want this.
VW is invested in XPENG. Perhaps VW's main business in 2030 ist to print their logo on EV's made by XPENG...🤔

Imagine how many Americans would benefit and how many Americans would be harmed if Chinese-made electric vehicles were allowed to be imported into the U.S. market? I'd say almost every American will benefit, except for auto industry workers who will suffer short-term unemployment, but auto industry CEOs making tens of millions of dollars a year will need to find another place to show their tricks, and politicians who need money to campaign for their offices must find other donors.
And these new EV companies would love to set up shop to manufacture cars in the local market, replacing old industry jobs with new ones!
Why do you see US autoworkers having short term unemployment. To be competitive all car companies will be near 100% automation. Tesla in China is at about 95%. The jobs will evaporate.
Then who will buy the cars

@@sed9406 Exactly, the US is even considering to ban CATL, the world largest battery producer in China, just like they banned Huawei before.

This is great! Bring on the lower costs cars!
I love that we can see innovation like this and price points that will create this market really excited 😊 too bad with all the import fees
