  • Every K-pop fandom has those delulu shippers that watch too many BL dramas and think they can force the same scenarios on male idols, but black women are always right there to make these toxic shippers face reality. Thank you for watching guys!

    Hi everyone, thank you for the support and for sharing your personal experiences in the comments!
    I just wanted to say something, I respect different opinions, but I will not allow any further statements like "We need to stop seeking validation" or "They just think we are exotic". Those kinds of comments are implying that black women (or any WOC) that enjoy these videos, are not already confident in themselves as black women and generalizes Asian men as fetishizers. I've gone to 30+ K-pop concerts, these black women are not looking for validation because they are not jumping over each other and screaming to be seen, the artist are coming to them and choosing to interact with them lol. If we keep it real, there was a time when most black women were not even open to Asian men, now we are in every K-pop fandom, but Korean men are not commenting "They just think we are exotic now". They recognize that attraction can change, that a person has to unlearn stereotypes and lies to be open in the first place. Asian men were considered least desired just like black women, so the concern isn't so one sided. Thank you! 🫰🙂

      Thank you for this comment luv😘! Everytime I see comments like "they just think we're exotic. they don't actually like us" makes me feel bad/insecure about liking kpop groups or just Asian men in general because I feel like a pick-me of sorts if that makes sense.

      @@fekialu9018 Some black women let other people shape their mindset and perspective, but those people may not be educated and cultured. We have to be so careful about who we listen to and then pay attention to what their agenda is because not everyone wants unity. There are black women that won't say it, but they prefer segregation. They will take something positive and make it seem negative to guilt black women out of expressing themselves. We deserve to feel joy and there is nothing wrong with appreciating artist that embrace us. Ignore the hate❤❤. You have community here and within K-pop

      There was a channel, I think it was Kpop and Black Women or something, and it got really f*tish-y later, but years ago she would amass a ton of clips from black fans from K-hip hop and Rnb singers (Jay Park, Dabin/DPR Live, etc.) to Kpop idols rookie and senior (Got7, Monsta X, etc.) interacting with black women. It’s amazing how they lose their mind to ship idols together, but all hell will break loose if a female is in their line of sight. They want them canceled but need to wipe the drool off their face if they see male idols kiss the others' cheeks. Just sad.

  • @Molly-iw1rc
    @Molly-iw1rc 7 месяцев назад +437

    The reason people don't attack BL shippers if we are being Fr is because people literally see BL as a concept and not like two real people liking each other. Like BL shippers are some of the most objectifying stans out there I swear, they literally see idols as toys for their fantasies and on top of that they don't see ACTUAL gay men as valid, it's only valid if op is attracted to both of the men. It's really upsetting and I'm glad black women are here to counter the ships 💁🏽‍♀️ (not saying these idols can't be gay or something, but the BL shippers don't actually care about the idols sexuality or feelings, they just think it's hot or cute for two idols that they find attractive to be together, which is so dehumanizing and gross).

    • @PurpleFlowerwork
      @PurpleFlowerwork  7 месяцев назад +114

      Amen! This is it, they treat male idols like manga and Wattpad characters, but they are real people. Even when male idols refer to each other as family and brothers for years, BL shippers STILL try to romanticize their interactions. Korean men are touchy and affectionate, even those who are not idols because that is their skin ship culture. Foreign men have said that they experienced culture shock when they moved to Korea or worked there because even in a work setting, men would hug them etc. Women who teach English in Korea have said their students would sit on each other and hold hands. Koreans actually show less affection when they are romantically attracted to someone out of respect, but shippers dismiss the cultural difference because it ruins their fantasizes. There are more videos about male idols dating each other than there are about the group's music and talent. How is that supporting the artists? It's not. 🤷🏾‍♀🤷🏾‍♀

    *STORY TIME* as a black girl W/ KEEHO
    this happened recently at the UTOP1A tour. I had a VIP package for group photo package and I was the first in line to walk in room for pictures where piwon was. When I walked in all the boys greeted me with a smile and a hello but most specifically keeho especially was and he complimented my concert outfit. When I sat down I was afraid I would not be seen in the picture and I said it out loud but keeho heard me and made sure I was seen and even posed a heart with me leaning closer to me (since I was a few seats away from him)
    Since then I have been biasing KEEHO so hard, he is the sweetest person ❤

    • @PurpleFlowerwork

      It is because they are getting some sort of satisfaction from it so over time, the BL dramas and the anime ships are no longer enough. They try to force the same scenarios are idols and it is easy for them to manipulate other people who are uncultured and don't understand Korean skin ship culture. Once they get thousands of likes and follows to "validate" their delusion, logic goes out the door completely. It's sad but I feel bad for them because it's mental more than anything. obsession is hard to break.

    I love it!!! I remember growing up and my father bringing home home music from different Asian countries. People use to say they didn't like people of color. Yet my dad worked at one of the big colleges for over 18 years and let me tell you they were nice and so kind to my dad. He didn't have no great job there but they always thanked him for everything he did for them. They use to give him music and ask him what he thought of it or little gifts and notes and pictures. When they found out he had a daughter they would give him things for me. I kept all the notes and cards and pics when my dad passed away. All my family worked there in different positions. Now my husband has been working there for 18 years and they are still just as nice to him. This video shows that all those mean a hurtful things so many people say aren't always true, If you take the time and look. This video was beautifully put together. I know I don't know you but thank you for putting this out there. @PurpleFlowerwork thank you for the kind words. Unfortunately my father passed away in 2005 six days before his birth day. Yet everyone he touched with his heart keeps his spirit alive. Even though I'm mixed race I dealt with racism as well as watched my father go through it too. Yet with everything he went through as a black man. He never let the world turn his heart to stone. He always found beauty and love and kindness in the world. He Unlike my mom raised me my whole and raised me to be the women and mother I am. Unfortunately life repeats itself and my husband has gone through alot of things that my father went through as a Black Puerto Rican man.Yet we raised all our children the same way I was raised. Sometimes life can seem so hard and unjust. Yet if we look hard enough. There is always a flower blooming in places that no one would understand how. Just by your video I can tell you are flower. It's obvious that this video isn't some weird kind of kmusic and black woman kind of thing, but it's only a video you will understand if you're in certain fandom spaces.
    In case you don't know, Enhypen is a group that caters to women. they don't really do the whole fujoshi fanservice kind of thing like say TXT or NCT, but they strongly focus on having a self insert female character for fans to insert themselves into. This has caused so much overzealous fighting in the fandom, especially for enha's attention at events that I don't think fans even care about their music atp.
    I was in an private enha gc a year or two ago (not on twitter) and an engene in our gc reacted really negatively to jake complimenting the interviewer at 1:08 as if she couldn't comprehend that he found her (Ashlee) pretty and that he said that he liked Ashlee's braids. and yes, that engene was Filipino.
    Only certain engenes know, but a lot of SEA (and non-black in general) engenes are very weird to black engenes in the fandom and try to bully them out by being flat out racist or making up something to paint as being problematic. A lot of "Twitter famous" black engenes were canceled and ran off of Twitter THIS YEAR for being so-called "antis"- for making jokes about the members. So many talented black engenes left Twitter too in the beginning of Bite Me era because of how toxic it was.
    And these were just general jokes that include AAVE, jokes that black people make- one was literally a joke about how Heeseung can't dress and all hell broke loose. People were telling that girl to kill herself and everything- saying Heeseungs recent post (was just hot selfies, nothing else) was directed at her and that Heeseung hates her.
    This spanned out for nearly 2 weeks.. Engenes and even fanbases had conversations about "antis" in the fandom and how Heeseung was being hated on.
    Literally everyone loves Heeseung, what actually spurred that witch hunt against her was that the black engene was noticed by aespa on tiktok the day before, she was doing a dance cover with her black friends and engenes took that chance to talk about her appearance, the way she dressed, her dancing, and her hair.
    i think they even leaked stuff from her private account.
    This happens a LOT, i dont trust engenes. and many of them don't have lives, a job, or a family or career to look forward to. Before Manifesto Era, non-black fans were very, very racist.
    I've heard lots of horror stories at concerts and venues too of how aggressive engenes can be, and they're usually non-black. Not denying that there are black fans who emulate the toxic culture in Enhypen's fandom because they definitely exist.
    These crazy engenes who stunk because they were camping for 1-3 days outside near the concert venue bullied a black girl with POTS because she was able to skip the line due to the venue's disablity accommodation and claimed she was faking. This was during the very first leg of the Fate tour, I believe.
    If i go to an Enhypen concert one day, it has to be in Atlanta or a place with lots of black people. I'm not going to Texas.

      I am studying psychology and we actually talked about this in class. BL shippers use what is called confirmation bias, which is the tendency to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information that supports one's prior belief in short. For shippers, they over analyze the smallest thing to validate their narrative while ignoring what would disprove it. How are my videos any different? I am just posting interactions as interactions; I am not implying that members are dating these fans secretly. Yet shippers are bothered by my content because it disproves their fantasy. The millions of views are mostly coming from grown women who have boyfriends/ husbands and can't even relate to what they are watching, but because it's feeding their fantasy... The mind is a powerful thing ha. Thank you for watching!

    • @PurpleFlowerwork
      @PurpleFlowerwork  7 месяцев назад +9

      It shouldn't be for fun and fantasy because most people who are drawn to THAT kind of fantasy, already struggle with separating fantasy from reality, that is why the line gets crossed in every single K-pop fandom( Taekook, Sunki, etc). I also noticed that a lot of toxic One Direction shippers (Larry Stylinson), moved over to K-pop and just shifted their focus on idol groups instead of accepting that they were wrong. That is why we are seeing that same extreme behavior in our fandoms. I truly believe these people have Delusion Disorder because they would physically attack the GFs, cyberbully the GFs, hack emails, told Louis that they hope his baby dies, posted real p*rn clips and said it was two members. That is the kind of people making BL ship videos.

      We have to know our worth. If POC thought about themselves from the perspective of God does not make mistakes and he's always intentional, they would never let another human being determine their value again. Of course you have a chance. And I agree, the segregation agenda has existed for centuries, I feel bad for the ones that feed into the lies. We have so many more similarities than differences and we were often allies throughout history, if we relearn history and read what schools refused to teach. I might do a mini history video. Anyway ha, thank you for your comment!

      Facts! I used to get called an "Oreo" by black kids in school simply because I listened to country and rock music. Listening to a certain genre of music or even another language does not mean you are not comfortable or that you are nay less black. People get caught up in culture, but our blackness does not increase or decrease based on how we wear our hair, what we eat, and what we listen to. Never let anyone make you feel like you can't love K-pop

      Don't worry, I am not someone that is easily offended, you are good queen ❤, this video nor future videos are meant to make anyone feel less than. It's more about appreciating artist that are not colorist or racist and enjoying the memories that we make with them. Also about not allowing toxic shippers to control how idols are viewed. I'll share with you, my perspective. For black women, we are not looking for validation in K-pop, many of us are looking for a space where we are not expected to like certain things and act a certain way based on our race. That space is K-pop. I remember growing up, I would get called an "Oreo" (black on the outside, white on the inside) simply because I did not talk a certain way and because I listened to rock & country music. K-music and the fandoms embody diversity that I needed. I'm rambling lol but thank you beautiful! I hope you get to meet Ni-ki and have an amazing experience with him.

    Music has always crossed racial barriers. Music can be appreciated by any one who has ears to hear. And the currency that purchases the music has no racial barriers either. Black people have always appreciated music, movies, cuisines, and cultures from different genres and nationalities. I don't discriminate. I was not raised that way. I love, even if I have to do it from a distance.
    I started watching and listening to K pop and dramas a few years ago and I love it. It's innocent, clean and wholesome. The kind of dramas you can watch with your entire family and not feel a shame or experience an awkward moment due to an uncomfortable scene coming across the screen. And the language is not as vulgar or full of profanity as American movies are. Nudity is not so prevalent in the K and C dramas either, at least, not the ones I watch. These dramas are more reserved.
    So, I am happy to see artists of other nationalities embracing the fact that Black people love your music too!

    • @PurpleFlowerwork
      @PurpleFlowerwork  6 месяцев назад +1

      I love what you said about the nature of K-dramas and C-dramas, the fact that you can watch an entire series without seeing any nudity or uncensored violence is unheard of in Western entertainment. Same with K-pop, yes there are some sexy dance moves, but it's not the entire routine, they do actual choreography and have creativity. Definitely a safer space for Christians and Catholics when compared to what the U.S market is pushing. Of course, pray for the artist mental and spiritual health, as fans that is something we should do naturally. I think Asian countries have been open to black culture for a while, China has Jamaicans, and they really embrace that culture there. I actually met a few Chinese Jamaicans while working in retail. A lot of Korean artists grew up listening to hip hop and R&B. Fun fact, R&B and hip hop are the most popular genres in Korea aside from Indie music and maybe ballads. Koreans like soulful music. I wish people would see the gift of culture exchange and the positive impact. Thank you for sharing!

Koreans in general, they are not hunting us down to beat us, lynching us, telling us to we can't come to their country, and their police are not going out of their way to brutalize us. I think some Koreans might be ignorant (misinformed, uneducated) towards black people because of how we are portrayed in bias media but also because of how some popular black artists (especially rappers) behave and present themselves on s international platform. Whether these black artists want to or not, they are representing black people for people in other countries. There is little to no black content that shows us as clam, educated, in healthy relationships, and feminine, so that is where the ignorance is born. Thank toy for your comment!

      @PurpleFlowerwork  6 месяцев назад

      @@sigourneybrown13 Oh okay, I don't want to dismiss your feelings about the issue but consider this.... Even if that did happen, what was the context (singing a song, speaking to each other, etc.)? Again, there is a difference between racism and ignorance (Wanting to offend someone vs saying something offensive). Also, are the videos them saying the N-word or videos of them speaking their native language without context to make it seem like they said the N-word? The N-word (as it is pronounced in America), existed in Asian languages long before slavery ever happened, so white people literally used a word similar to theirs, to degrade us ( N*ga and Nega are part of Korean language, N*ga is "You" in an informal way, Nega means I, me). The way we pronounce it, is the same way it is pronounced in their native languages. I'm a woman of God, so I am not so self-righteous to think I am in a position to cancel another human being for making a mistake when I have made many myself. From what I researched, most agreed that Heeseung did not say the N-word in his situation, RM was barely 19 years old & just singing a song, so he did not have the education that he clearly has now. He and BigHit apologized years ago. Personally, I am not holding it against a non-black person if they sing a rap song and accidently say the N-word because the artists put that word in their music knowing that they have international following that are not receiving black history /American history lessons in their schools. The George Floyd murder was a big eye opener for Asian countries which is why they were protesting for him in China and South Korea. Rather than cancel them, teach them ❤❤

      You’re right, some do, but not all. That’s where you have to use discernment to distinguish who is genuine with their intentions and who isn’t. • @PurpleFlowerwork
      @PurpleFlowerwork  7 месяцев назад +30

      Black women have been conditioned by white society to believe that white women are the only standard, so you won't even allow yourself to believe that black women can be someone's standard. We listen to "Pro black " podcasts and influencers that have a segregation agenda. They don't want black women to believe they are desired by anyone that does not look like them. The "It's always going to be us against them" mentality does not leave space for understanding and progression because it negatively alters how we believe non-black people view us. Why do black women celebrate their uniqueness but then call it 'exoticness" when non-black people are attracted to what makes us unique? Should they not notice that we have different hair, skin, and style? Black men notice how different we are, so they either embrace us or look the other way. There are many black women living in Korea and married to Korean men that could have been idols if they wanted to, so the devil is a lie. I hope you learn to love yourself because denying the obvious isn't going to change it 💜

      @@purporchid8628 I like what you said about discernment because there are black men that only go for black women with huge butts because it's "exotic" so it's not just a racial thing, it can be anything physical. Some men only go for Asian women because they've been stereotyped as quiet and submissive (not in biblical context), so sometimes it's stereotypes not looks or culture. It's not just black women either. You have to pray for discernment and clarity concerning. Great point you made there. Thank you!
