So just so you know Black people don't have to have dreads, it's just one of the many styles such as braids, twists, afro, straight and etc that we put our hair in. Also it's not dangerous for us to not have locs/braids/twists in our hair, I think when he said it can be dangerous he actually meant that a perm(chemical hair straightener) can be dangerous because of the chemicals. I promise you our natural hair is not harming us by existing 😅 Braids/twists are just different styles for our hair that can lessen the likelihood of knots forming & help retain moisture or length.

I'm just almost ashamed that I barely see some feedback on what they actually filmed and their reaction. As that is the goal! If they want to educate themselves they can look it up instead of getting scolded...🙄

@@lilbossmichellegill2034 I loved reading comments on videos.. but in these times the only thing I read about is about cultural appropriation, people that try to learn other races lessons in a very not so appropriate way, negativity etc...
Let the man say he liked 'the dread' or 'the rasta' hair, all we black people know what he wanted to say. Instead of a thousand people trying to educate him and making him feel bad...
He even apologized now but I don't see any comment mentioning about that but more lectures..🤦🏽‍♀️. The man is not going to become a professor in culture appreciation..................

@@DeamzstryM Yes! Once again I simply completely agree.✨ I would not want to learn or continue to explore a subject or topic if people were speaking to me about it a negative manner. I certainly wouldn't feel encouraged if over 1-200 people said the same thing either. Also for people to not take a moment to convey their thoughts nicely to the You Tubers in the polite manner that they would like someone to tell them ... just hurts my heart. There were so many other things that went on in the video. ❤

As a black person, our hair is one of our biggest flex. So yeah he’s right that we wear it dreaded, but there’s also twists, cornrows, braids and etc. It’s all for the protection and growth for our hair. I mean it’s not dangerous for our scalp if we don’t wear protective styles, but it definitely helps. Also as a black girl I like styles that I can wear and take out every two months or so like braids😁

The braids and dreadlocks are just personal style choices or can be worn to keep the hair healthy. It doesn’t prevent hair from penetrating into the scalp. But interesting hypothesis.

I just also wanted to say these types of hairstyles like dreads and etc go further back than just "protective hairstyling" it is also what originated from Africa and these styles are worn by many black people not just for protection but there's RACIAL historical context as well! Also, remember some black people as well do wear these hairstyles because they do look nice and naturally fit well with our type of hair so it def is more than what you said even tho what u said kind of did not make too much sense lol but some of us have to remember you aren't black so it is okay to be respectively questionable. Nice video btw and ty for sharing ur knowledge! ❤️

I'm super late to the comments, but I'm glad to see that people have been kind (for the most part) in explaining black/African hairstyles to you guys. I'm just glad that you're learning and still willing to learn. No hate from this end, it's refreshing to see people have a healthy curiosity and open to further explanation. I'm sorry you got scolded. I would never scold anyone for getting something about our hair, culture, etc. incorrect, when they're coming from a good place. Too many are ready to have people's heads when learning about other cultures is exactly that. Keep learning, keep growing, and thanks for the reaction!

🤣🤣 I know that there was nothing meant to e disrespectful, it’s just something you don’t know. Yes, a lot of us have curly hair, it’s natural, some have really thick hair where the curls are smaller and tighter, and some have thinner or loose curls and they hang down. The hair doesn’t go into our heads and become dangerous for us. But there are braids to are on the scalp, or ones that hang down.
