Milk spotting is caused by the manufacturing process of the coins. Detergent used. And there's no way of removing it. It's not simply caused by moisture from the air.

I'm from Singapore where we have about 80% humidity. I have to keep my silver coins in a drawer with silica gel to absorb moisture. I displayed a few coins in an open cabinet and sure enough I had a milk spotting problem with all except the Canadian Maple Leaf ones.
I used my wife's silver polishing cloth for those coins with milk spotting and it worked. 😊

I 100% agree with this advice. I wish I could go back and stick to this plan. When I started stacking last Sept I bought only what was on sale for the lowest premium. I bought into the idea that silver is silver and you want as much weight for your dollar. Then I started favoring items that I didn't have yet (rookie move) like a collector. I do recall that RCM bars were way more expensive and I didn't see them on sale often. But the coins were on sale occasionally. The penny dropped when I started to think about my untimely death and the mess I have created for my wife. She will absolutely get ripped off when converting to funny money because she could not care less about PMs try as I may to educate her.

The British Mint has the worst reputation for milk spots but they claim to have made efforts to fix it. Actually, I think it was they that did the research on what causes it. I understand the air moisture content but what about the actual silver content, do you not test your silver to assure silver content?

Can you buy those bars straight from the mint?

Hi Leah C! You can buy directly from the Royal Canadian Mint, but I don't know how the mint prices compare to your local coin shop? 😎

Is quality that important in reality? I feel like there’s layers to this conversation and obviously there’s reasons with which the conversation gets complicated but when you are dealing with a economic collapse silver is going to be valuable and like you said a ounce of silver is a ounce of silver then the lower the price is the better decision

I really like the Ark coins but I have the 1 oz coins and they have milk spotted. I won't be buying anymore.

ASE's are hands down the MOST DESIRED Silver coins in the World! 👍... 😊😊😊...and when SHTF here in the USA 🇺🇸 .. No one will want RCM silver Over AMERICAN EAGLES OR CONSTITUTIONAL US SILVER COINS...👍.. I doubt any farmer in the USA would exchange a dozen eggs for Canadian silver 🤔

Lol ok. If shtf the last thing you or anyone else is going to be worried about is where the silver is coming from. Silver is silver. You're trying to carry the current paradigm (dollar king) into a sound money system. It won't work that way. All about ounces.

@@SilverStarEagles ... American farmers don't care for Canadian silver my friend... especially compared to Constitutional Silver. Sorry but its the Truth! If I was willing to trade my SILVER EAGLES for Canadian Maples most people would jump at that chance...😆 🤣 😂..and everyone knows it.

@@amaizenblue44 it's a marketing strategy in my opinion. 999 and 9999 both still contain 1 toz of silver. American Silver Eagles , the most over priced silver on the market, is 999. That said, I would personally rather hold 9999 but it doesn't make it more valuable.
