I like your swarm bucket setup so much I made one here in Tennessee. I decided to pull my Amish built box down to add another coat of paint and put the bucket up temporarily. Once I did that a couple weeks ago I realized I had used a white lid and yours had the black lid. Do you think the darker lid still provides some shade type darkness? Would it it be best to swap the lid for a darker one? Hey I am a newbee and I don’t mind asking dumb questions… I really enjoy your videos, they’re simple and I appreciate you sharing your ideas and bee keeping knowledge. Thanks again….
Hey Rich, I caught a swarm at work under a trailer. We saved a lot of the comb and put it on with rubber bands like you said on the frames. The swarm bearded and were on a near by tree. We put them back in with the queen. We saw her. Transported her to my house last night. This morning I opened the entrance. They are bearding again on a near by tree. Any help would be great
Good job rich. I really need to set mine up soon. I'm off Oakland Park boulevard.
Even though swarm season is all year round down here, the best swarms happen between January and June.
@@southflbeekeepingwithrich caught one last week.
This is great! Thanks for sharing Rich. :-)
You’re welcome

Your white lid is probably better than the dark lid. Thank you for the kind comments!

Put a queen excluder above the bottom board and the box above that and put them back in. Remove it in 3-4 days.
