    When I was younger I could handle alot of heat. Now at 40 it's scary because my heart will start racing, I'll get dizzy and start feeling delirious.

    Bad maintenance, running with the AC on

    The grapevine is going up into mountains. There are signs that tell you to not use ac as overheating can occur.

    It gets hot as hell in Commiefornia. If you’re not on the coast it’s bad. We have one of the hottest places in the world Death Valley. It’s been over 112 every day for almost 2 weeks at my house in the valley. Not to mention we get rolling blackouts here because our infrastructure is shit and they don’t want the grid catching shit on fire

    Are these cars 40 years old? The last time I was ever in a car that was close to overheating on the Grapevine in summer was in the 1980’s.

    And please don’t make your pets stay outside without shade, maybe a fan and def plenty of water!!

  • @Ogrematic
    @Ogrematic 3 месяца назад

    If you turn the ac off, turn the heat all the way up, and crank the fan on full blast, you will blow some of the heat out of the engine. When you get home, shut off the engine, open the hood and put a box fan on your engine facing up on high.

      I would idle it in the shade to keep the oil recirculating in the engine otherwise it could eventually turn into sludge especially with turbo vehicles.

    This is stupid, your engine runs at +400 degrees. There are cars in the middle East driving everyday where it's 20 degrees hotter than it is in So. Cal.

    • @brandonweeks
      @brandonweeks 3 месяца назад +1

      Oil and coolant keep the engine below 200 if working properly. 400 and your engine is never spinning again

  • @axisgalaxis

    Check your fluid (antifreeze) levels. Before leaving especially on hot days. N yea don’t drive in peak heat temp hours. .

    Someone else mentioned it, but turn the heat on full blast and roll down all the windows. It'll help bleed heat off the engine.

      228 is just fine. For reference 212 is needed to avoid water build up in the crankcase.

    Lousy designs. Small engine bay traps heat. Small radiator doesn't exchange heat fast enough. People adding water to the radiator instead of coolant. And, driver error, trying to drive fast up a very steep MTN road at higher speeds, which causes engine overload and overheating. The transmission gearing will determine which gear you're in and what rpm the engine will run at, also producing high amounts of heat.
    I was once on a grey hound bus that overheated going up the grapevine on I-5. Too much weight for the engine to move and the driver had the pedal to the metal.
