Freedom in Christ is not some “easy believeism”. Freedom in Christ is the knowledge that we are always with Him in love. Unlike those who ride what I call the roller coaster of faith, we are assured of our relationship whether or not (generally not) we live out that faith 24/7 365 days a year. This is what I believe our Lord meant when he said I came that you may have life and have it abundantly. The abundant life is not full of worries & doubts. The abundant life is full of the love, peace, joy...that we have in our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.
My mind messes with me daily ! Between Baptist doctrine, the doctrine of grace (Calvinism), easy-believism. Through faith I know the Lord is in my heart! Thank you brother

This is scrupulosity!!! I have it!!! 😢😢😢😢 Oh geesh!!! I keep retrusting jesus shed blood for remission of all my sin that he was buried and rose again. Not sure if I trusted enough... So I do it again!! You are helping me so much!!!! God bless you. I get blasphemous thoughts about Jesus. Out of nowhere...part of scrupulosity..... The pastor told me....it was from SOME SIN!!! So I just broke down. I trusted Jesus again and meant business.... This is awful!!!
I like andrew farley. I think the head faith or heart faith debate is a way we can boast about our faith. My confidence is in Christ, not in my thought. That being said, I also like how Bob wilkins puts the whole debate. The mind and heart and soul are all intertwined and thinking a thought comes from the heart. We might ask Christ into our life through a thought or though a prayer, but we always keep our eyes on Christ. I constantly have to remind myself all day that I am saved by the blood of Christ somedays and its hard, but pray to God to help us increase our faith
@@lawrenceanyaehie2537 I get thoughts in my head that make me worry about my salvation. I know Jesus paid it all but these thoughts torment me at times. I just need reassurance sometimes. It’s like when a woman is unsure where she stands with her man. She knows he loves her. But she needs to hear it from her man sometimes. Same thing with a believer in Christ, we need reassurance from our father and he speaks to us in his word.

I’ve struggled with these very things for decades wondering whether I have to 1 John 1:9 my sins and “What if I’m wrong?” Churches are often “Saved by grace” while their tacit message is “Now that you’re saved, clean up your act.” One pastor told me that because I have headaches, I must have sin in my life. Fortunately for me, I didn’t believe him cos we all have sin that we’re dealing with.
I have rebelled against God willfully and in ways too horrible to me spoken of. I was spiritually and mentally chastened, but I can't shake the feeling that someone who would do such things surely can't be saved.
No sin is greater than the fact that God became a man and humbled himself enough to be tortured and die for our sins. Nothing is more powerful than that, his blood washes away all sins.
God tells us in His living word that all who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved! God is not a liar. If God said it then you can trust it. That should settle all doubts. The thief on the cross said only 3 words " Jesus remember me." Jesus did not hesitate. Jesus responded with " Today you will be with me in heaven." If you know your a sinner and that Jesus is the only cure (way) and you call on Him then that's prof that God's working on your heart. God promises also in His word the " He who starts a good work in you will finish it." It's all by God's amazing Grace😊.
I trust Jesus as my saviour a lot. I'm not always sure I trusted enough. So I trust Jesus again. I know have trusted Jesus paid for all my sin ... I Know Jesus said He would never leave me nor forsake me. So I try to go back to that .
@@IanBartleson I started getting intrusive blasphemous thoughts about Jesus around October. It makes me cry. I don't understand what is happening with me. . I think He gets mad... But these thoughts are not mine. So I just hold Jesus to those promises.
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.
Satan is the great accuser. He is our enemy and will do anything to paralyze believers in Jesus. Stand firm in your faith and rehearse the truths you know from the scripture, claiming God’s promises. Our emotions should not control us but the Holy Spirit. So freeing!
Just believe is all that is required to be saved. Being Justified by works like Rahab and Abraham is toward man not God. Has nothing to do with salvation. Salvation is to believe in the gospel of Jesus and what he did and nothing more.
The moment you BELIEVE THE GOSPEL (1CORINTHIANS 15:1-5) you were SEALED with the holy spirit of promise onto the date of the redemption of the purchased possession. It was God's idea, not yours. And it is irreversible. When Simon bar Jonah(Peter) made his confession of faith - "..you are the Christ(MESSIAH), Jesus said to Peter, it was not you who generated this insight but my Father in heaven!!
1 JOHN 2:3-4 tells us exactly HOW we KNOW that we KNOW Him : "By THIS we KNOW that we KNOW Him, IF we Keep His Commandments. He who says, “I KNOW Him,” BUT does NOT Keep His Commandments, is a LIAR, and The Truth is NOT in him."
To provide a solution lacking any profundity--- The fact that you're doubting whether you are saved in a true sense probably means that you are. Doubt is a part of Christian living and without it we can't grow in our faith. If you are someone who is not truly saved, it's less likely that you will doubt the legitimacy of your salvation. It's sort of like worrying about being arrogant- the most arrogant of people may not even know they're doing it, and if they do they don't care. But it's the people who are far less arrogant that worry and ask their friends if they are arrogant because they don't want to come across that way. *shrugs*
Sorry Andrew. I never opened any door. God's irresistible Grace drew me in through the door. I had nothing to do with my salvation. Just like I had nothing to do with my birth, I had nothing to do with my rebirth. Again, your thoughts on "election" are off here. John 6:44 - No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.
I have read that Jesus said...'if I be lifted up I will draw all men unto me'....John 12.32 The offer is there for all....we still have the choice option...always in His Grace

Even John the Baptist, the greatest ever born of woman according to the Lord, had doubts when he was in prison.

You have free will. You chose to respond to Jesus’ free gift. And so you are saved. God doesn’t save anyone who doesn’t believe first.
