Everything Shaykh said is true. The future for the truth looks very challenging . Only by equipping yourself with knowledge and by understanding what is going on can we protect ourselves. This needs a reasonable degree of intellectual engagement with issues at hand....however, sadly most people will be lost in their own bubble .

AI is just an advanced tool. We can use these tools to make tasks easier.
Yes it is and it is very helpful but for those who use it for good things. I Myself think it is great But for the guys with bad intentions, all the videos movies you can generate yourself, the deepfake where a man can have a girl face in realtime and so on, any images you can generate, some men thinking to marry female ai robot in future, ai doing the reasoning or thinking for use, we will not need to use our brain often. So yeah we may be in big trouble.

Excellent lecture! As for the ethics part of AI, there would come time when you can train AI models in ethics as well so that they can behave more ethically similar to humans. The question, however, is what kind of ethics representing what culture and so on. That is the tricky and uncharted area that we as Muslim community need to consider and possibly influence.

I might not be worry about us boomers but I am worried for our future generation, our own zuriyat. Boomers are saved by adhering to the Quran and the Sunnah. AI might even replace God in their generation, astaghfirullah and they will depend and rely on it. O Allah protect us and our zuriyat from the greatest fitnah. Ameen.

When he says ‘AI knows you better than you know yourself,’ it reminds me of comments made by Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, back in 2008.
He was talking about how everything within Google, even corporate management, was data driven. He used the example of how they could determine when somebody was going to quit, even before that person knew they were going to quit. (I guess based on duration to compete tasks, or whatever.)

Very important speech! However it is important to understand that AI is very different from human intelligence and will likely remain that way.
AI is essentially a compiler - it recombines data from its training set (usually consists of billions or more of data entries), and filters the recombinations over and over again to increase the probability that the final suggestion is related to the question being asked. Human beings are responsible for feeding in the original data and providing the algorithm (a set of mathematical rules that dictate "if this happens do this, if that happens do that etc") that does the "probabilistic filtering". These two issues are (besides calculation speed/volume) the most important reasons why we keep getting GPT3, 4, omni etc... It also explains why training AI with AI data can cause performance limitations (the data being input is flawed) while training AI with real world data can cause bias. The main issue with scientists assuming that AI will becoming a living force of its own is the assumption that uncovering and generating information about the material world is a cause in itself such that an AI that is given the instruction to discover the world and find purpose will become a perpetual thinking machine. That is not the case - human beings care for knowledge because we are designed for mortality and community...

Actually the bigger danger from AI is it learning from human behavior whereas the worst of a human can have a “change of heart” it’s difficult to really have something artificial mirror this quality while learning from an organism that mostly makes mistakes.
For AI there may be certain ethics or concepts of justice built in but no concepts of repentance and mercy so it would make for a system that tries to benefit at the cost of others and never considers “giving back”

artificial intelligence is not a decade or two old its actually from the 1950's already the first basic artifical intelligence machine in 1952 when Arthur Samuel developed a program to play checkers and to teach its self how to play checkers and the first use of the word Artifical Intelligence was 1955 or at leats thats when it came into popular use....
