I always thought this scene was touching and very telling. Basically the 2 most powerful pirates on the sea and they competed with each other. However, they were on friendly terms and had great respect for each other, to the point that casually meeting for a drink was no problem at all.

So I have a theory - “D” could possibly be from the old great kingdom like maybe they’re related to it’s king or something and the great kingdoms that was destroyed by combined might of 20 kingdoms (those kingdoms formed the world government) is it possible that the world government is just trying to keep the history of the great kingdom and “D” hidden because they might be related and if people found it they would turn against the government ??
P.s - I’m not super big on anime I just look up stuff when I’m curious about it

Looks like they are talking under the Sakura trees of Wano probably after Roger sailed to Raftel. He probably told Whitebeard everything from the secrets 800 years ago to literally probably the origin of the whole One Piece Universe. Raftel must be a magical place.
