When you realize that if Marines hadn't done the Ace execution things wouldn't be nearly as bad as they are now. Whitebeard's death created such a power vacuum that all the other Yonkos like Blackbeard, Kaido and Big Mom got even more active and the confirmation of One Piece existing made the pirate era even more thrilling for the other pirates and rookies. This is a war which ended up doing nothing of any good instead both parties lost
I think whitebeard didn't lose in his last moments he struck a blow that the WG couldnt shake off. Him stating that One Piece exist is a dagger to the WG. Sure he did die but he died standing for his family and he reignited the flames of piracy.

He hated the way they rule by just trying to maintain their reputation. I think by the end of One Piece, or near the climax of the story, there will come a time where the navy splits up from the WG and then the WG gets destroyed by the D's, thus creating a new monarchy which is way better than the current corrupt one. Hopefully the D's will succeed them

One of the 'best' deaths in anime. Even if Whitebeard couldn't save Ace, couldn't get revenge on Akainu, and couldn't finish Blackbeard, it still looks fulfilling. Whitebeard reached long ago his dream of having a family, he was prepared to die for a long long time.
This is one of the saddest deaths in anime and the saddest death of an elder in an anime for me. Whitebeard will always have had the biggest impact in One Piece.

Nice touch as they added the Gold and Oden OST when he died, as they were not allowed to show Oden this early in the anime / manga but they made sure that he will be included in his final flashback. Izo was there as he wasnt that story-breaking to be shown, but Oden was left out on purpose.

I LOVE this. He went out with the biggest bang he could imagine, in a way only he could. It was really Whitebeard that set off the new pirate age, not Luffy. Just like Roger set off the first one.
With those words he just pissed off the entire Navy with what would come. Respect! But that simple yet beautiful wish made me love this character so much more.
Its been how many years but this scene is still an epic one to watch. Fun fact: Back in the early 2000's when the anime world greatly needs an epic fight and a legendary character that could propel its fame to how it is today, Whitebeard was one of them. This legendary character propelled One Piece as one of the best selling manga, and anime throughout the years. Much respect to my old idol despite his short appearance in the anime.

This legendary character propelled One Piece as one of the best selling manga, and anime throughout the years. Much respect to my old idol despite his short appearance in the anime.
