@@wyvern-report Garp didn't want to be there at first, but rushed there after heard Roger coming. He just wanted to have some fun too. And in the end, when Rocks pirates were too strong, those two need to joined force to balance the table. I don't think both them gave a shit about the Celestial Dragons.
@@VietVuHunzter At the end of the day, Garp knows what the Marines are protecting. It's less about the civilians of the world and more about maintaining the status quo of protecting the CD. He continued to be in the marines for decades longer..........even trying to get Ace and Luffy to protect that system. He could have become a member of Sword, like Koby, but he still is in the system..............and it would be one thing if Garp was still a marine to try and make changes, but he doesn't want to do that either.
@@coreymartin6486 He probably just likes a life where there's more "stability" than what a pirate life can bring you. He hates the system but sadly he really can't do much since that would uproot how he's been living.
Which is why he lets pirates like Rogers and Luffy, don't know bout Dragon tho, do almost whatever they want cause he knows if anyone can change the system without being harmful to it, it's pirates like them
@@NimoDharsomebody told me that Garp basically has no marine duties anymore he basically trains the youth and does what he wants at the point, they also said he tried to quit after marine fort but the higher ups wouldn’t allow it because he’s “basically the navy’s mascot”. I don’t know how true any of that is but it does make sense lol

Will it happen? If it does happen then we will see Garp as the protagonist and Gol D Roger as his ally. The Rocks Pirates led by Rocks D Xebec will be the main antagonist of the film. The film will be a canon to the anime series.

The reason why this battle and team up was that on this island where the world's most powerful devil fruits which the calestinian Dragons had at the time....this is the reason why Rocks decided to attack and also the reason why Roger and Garp team up for no coming these devil fruits at Xebec hands....and the fruits ends up at Kaido Big mom Kuma Shiki whitebeard and the rest who survived....Oda probably will do a flash back and perhaps the upcoming final war will be something similar but for the ancient weapons

Just one thing, he is a sword's member. But I agree, I hope Oda give us some motivation why these good characters like Sengoku, Garp, Tusuru, Fujitora, Koby and Smoker are still in the Navy.
@victorluz3052 are you sure garp is a member of Sword? Right before he went to the island to save koby he was talking to Doll and she asked if he got permission from the brass. I would imagine Doll would know whether he was Sword or not...and it also doesn't seem like something people purposely hid.
tell me you haven't watched one piece without telling me... garp is IN the marines because he firmly believes the MARINES are righteous. he KNOWS first hand that there are good pirates, as there are bad marines. however as a WHOLE pirates are against the law and mostly plunder and terrorize. just because the main characters are pirates and good does not mean pirates as a whole are good. garp himself knows that there are good pirates, otherwise why on earth would he give his word to a pirate to protect their child? garp KNOWS that's the right thing to do, the child did not harm anyone. he follows his own form of justice, in his own path in the marines and he has openly detested the celestial dragons basically every arc that he's in. and another flaw, garp RESIGNED from the marines after what they did in marineford because again, he saw something that wasn't his brand of justice and was no longer interested, however he did stay to train a future generation of marines that fit his brand of justice as the protectors of the world. absolute yap your comment was lol.

You see,most of the Rocks crew hate each other,so during the Battle of God Valley,Everyone left Rocks to die.So thats how the Rocks pirates are disbanded.

@@tapioka7294 I don't think Roger protected the CD. If I recall, Sengoku said Garp was protecting them and that to fulfill this mission he sided with Roger against Rocks. I don't recall Sengoku saying Roger was helping.
Idk what Roger was seeking but I think he saw Rocks as more dangerous than the CD and Holy Knights.

At the end of the day..............I doubt Rocks and crew were there to kill slaves. They were there to overthrow the CD. Roger and Garp protected that system by getting in between.

Just an assumption but whitebeard probably changed side and fought against rocks. And Roger was probbaly supported by Gaban and Reiglegh which are equally strong and able to stand their own ground. Rocks crew probbaly lost on low difference.

Everyone chanting how sh.ty world goverment is an theyvare right but what is the alternative? Yeah right now we have revulationary army but still it wont get power without big bloodshet and its not even guaranteed. From Garp and many good marines perpective WG is much better alternative comparing other options which would ensue huge chaos and many innocent live lost. I am not exactly behing with their choice but i get it.
