I saw The Who in 1976 at Madison Square Garden in NYC when I was 16 years old. Our seats were close to the stage. They closed the concert with this song. I think my ears are still ringing. 😂
I would recommend anything from the Who performing at the Isle of Wight 1970. Not only because it's a great performance, but you get to see drummer Keith Moon in his prime. This video is fun, but Keith was a shell of himself by this point, and he would pass away soon after. Another great video would be their performance of "A Quick One" at the Rolling Stones Rock n Roll Circus. The Stones were so sure the Who had upstaged them on their own show that it took 30 years for the film to finally be released.
Isle of Wight, Tanglewood or Woodstock are all amazing and within a year of each other in their furious prime. Nothing like them in 69/70, Rock at its best, going toe to toe with Hendrix and the Stones and coming out better for it.
Unfortunately it appears from the Wings of Pegasus channel that many of the new singers and quite a few older ones are abusing autotuning and pitch correction to death, and that the computer processing is fast enough to do it in real time so they are singing "live" but what you hear coming out of the speakers is not what went into the microphone.
John was the best musician in the group as much as Keith is praised to be the best drummer ever (and he was one of the best) but John Entwistle was the only one that could really rival a John Paul Jones. You should listen to The Real Me - I think it‘s the best rock bass playing ever even beating Ramble On, and that bass riff is iconic as hell. But what John is doing on The Real Me is out of this world! Lyrically a song for the Americans now, that just never will learn… sorry.
Most watchers are hypnotized by the show and forget the depth of the lyrics.

I would recommend "A Quick One While He's Away" from the Rock and Roll Circus. Or "Young Man Blues" live from the Isle of Wight
Listen up America!

Agreed, this is Moon at about 70%, competent behind the kit but nothing like he was in the shows you mentioned.

Love Reign Over Me is a step in the opposite direction of this song. A rock love song.
All the Who songs are great.
Everybody in that crowd was "Baked". CCR's John Fogerty told a funny story about it.
Great stuff.. Great 70;s rock... Great React.
Keith Moon was one of the hardest rock drummers ever...
Great song from my second favorite Who album!
The Who have lots good songs. My Generation is my favourite. Well worth a listen, Steph.
My Generation, Live at Leeds, would blow her mind!
Incredible performance! 🤘

They were great in concert❤
Kieth Moon invented hard rock-heavy metal drumming just by being himself. check out "I can see for Miles" by the who
You will love "A quick one while he's away" by the Who, live at the magic circus. (1968)
Great song and a great show. I got to see them once and I had a blast. Good reaction
check out the duct tape holding the headphones to moon's head!
Hi Steph...love u from New Mexico, USA 🇺🇸 ❤😊 ⚘️

Too bad an insufficient number of US voters have neither heard nor appreciated the meaning of this old song.
Nope, the communists will NEVER fool us again!
They will find out soon 😢
Get over it - Red all the way - the new boss is very much not the old boss (Thank God and the awakened American voters)
Spot On man, and we will all pay the price for their ignorance and just plain stupidity.
meet the new boss, helluva lot better than the old boss!
Rock 'n roll of the 70s was built different.
