I use a Dewalt dolly box and 3 screw bins for tools every day. After swapping the screw bins for Milwaukee’s, I wanted to upgrade to the Milwaukee dolly box to but it’s actually almost unusable inside. The Dewalt box is perfectly square inside while the Milwaukee is so full of space consuming contour that the actual flat btm of the box is less then half the size of the boxes footprint. So I bolted one of these plates to the top of my Dewalt dolly and it works perfect with the red cases.
Milwaukee packout system is garbage for wasted space with useless contours. I'm stuck with the system right now, but literally anything is better. I could organize carboard boxes better.
I have hundreds of thousands of dollars in Milwaukee tools...so I'm not just a Milwaukee hater. I like to be organized...and this system is great in theory...it sucks to actually use.
I love my Milwaukee tools, and regret the packout system purchase more than anything.
I’ve been a makita guy for probably 15 or so years, I have lots of makita cordless stuff. I only recently purchased the Milwaukee ⅜ ratchet and then the m18 portable bandsaw. I have to say I’m very impressed. As my makita stuff dies I’ll probably replace them with Milwaukee. I’m about to start buying packout boxes, I hope they continue to add to the collection, thanks for the video.

OK, listen. You mount one Crate to the Mounting Plate... Then you mount another Crate on top of the first Crate... Repeat as needed. Why do y’all buy tools if you can’t figure that out?

You can stack multiple bins a couple of ways, I prefer to use the middle slot so there is a bit of backer on the plate and hang the bins off the bottom.
I agree on the middle. The bottom makes it flimsy. 👍🏻
According to the installation instructions, the PACKOUT units need to be secured with straps in addition to the mounting plates when used in a vehicle.
does anyone know if you can mount the plate on a ceiling and then slide a Milwaukee bin on it and have it hang from the ceiling?
How long should the screws be when going into 1” ply?
I would use a 2 inch screw to anchor it.
Can you use this mounting plate, and pop your own castors on to create a type of dolly?
The dolly is a bit more re enforced. You could though.
