My friend, you are a chocolate angel.....I have been beating my head against the wall and have watched everything I could. You just fixed my vents and my power brakes. They stopped working the same time. The vacuum system had a leak so I had no brake assist. I replaced every part and it is a $2 vacuum hose. I wish I had just mailed you the money I spent chasing your solution. Thank you my friend....J Sullivan, West Texas.

ok - I found your link, extremely helpful for the problem of defrost-only heat. I studied the vaccuum lines on my '02 F250, and found a disconnected fixture next to my battery - that I had to replace not long ago. Must have knocked it loose in the replacement. Even tho your video displayed an older model - you are right in thinking 'just study the lines' - and your piece showed me where to look and basically what to look for. I posted this link on the Ford Enthusiasts page on two strings dealing with this topic. THANK YOU, ROBERT!

So at 5:30 AM after watching the video I went out to my truck raised the lines and noticed that in taking out the glove bo and moving the temperature selector to see if it worked right ..it looked like the plastic part was busted and they had sort of wired it but as soon as IO pushed the line all the way over it seemed like the AC got much colder...granted it is 6 am but I feel like was the key and your video made it possible so THANK YOU I live in AZ all summer so no AC Sucks big time Thanks again!

Mr. Robert. Heapings of God's blessings on you. I have been collecting these OBS Fords for a couple years, learning lots from youtube and teaching myself plenty, too. This is in the Top 10 for DIY help for this blue oval fan!! I have vacuum lines flopping around the servos in my engine bays and under the dashes of all my old trucks. I'm gonna invest in a bulk of appropriate interior-diameter hose (probably the more durable, thick, black hose for hydrualics) and mark all of the existing and replaced vacuum tubing with various colors of electrical tape and Sharpie lables. I'm psyched to get started, now - and especially to have performance (for EGR and smog system) and climate control restored in my fleet.

Followed Roberts video on heater control & found white vacuum line totally gone under hood on passenger side. Live in the bush in Alaska & minus 40 to minus 60 degree temp hard on rubber & plastic parts. Didn’t have access to parts place so improvised, as often happens in bush. Took a section of phone line& stripped internal phone wires out. The phone line worked& got good heater control. Was warm all the way to town,120 miles distant.

Wasn't what I was looking for but nice video and informative thank you.
I was wondering if you know of any solutions to replacing the climate control temperature adjustment cable on the back side of the unit. I am not sure how to get the old cable off the back side with out potentially breaking the plastic mount. It looks to pop off and I can destroy the old one without getting too upset but obviously do want to break the new replacement plastic mount putting the temperature adjustment cable back onto it. I have been looking online but haven't found a video on how to get the cable off and back on without losing my cool and just snapping the brittle plastic. The plastic vacuum connectors are broken so I am planning on replacing the entire unit with a newer one and that includes popping on and off that temperature adjustment cable. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated...thank you. 1994 Ford Bronco

What does that last servomotor do that's in the engine bay in the passenger side do? Is it to close the damper to recirculate the interior air instead of allowing fresh air in? That's the only one that's missing it's vacuum line, everything inside my truck is hooked up but still only has air coming out of the defroster. Any ideas?

Man i’m so confused i’ve looked everywhere online for hours and can’t find what i need, and i think i ordered the wrong parts after seeing this video. my switch for the MAX AC/VENT/FLOOR broke today when i went to switch it to ac, and it’s stuck on vent. all of my vents and what not worked perfectly before the switch broke. All i need to do is replace the switch, however it looks from the backside there’s two different switches on the right side.... so which one the hell do i need? is the switch even replaceable or do i have to get a whole unit with everything together? HELP! lol. if it’s the switch on the bottom with vacuum
lines attached to it then i ordered the correct one.

I live in a fairly warm place and have never used the heater since I bought it until recently, and it get so hot, even at fan level one, that it melts plastic. i have a 2003 ford excurision, when in a/c mode the air comes out of the defrost vents, the vac pump was changed, then when the cab goes above the set temp it returns to the defrost vents, i raise the temp and it returns to the dash vents, then lower the temp, i have to keep doing this until i reach the right temp, hope someone can help

Those vacuum lines get brittle and break by the engine.
