Totally perfect format. It makes all game fit more or less, and all retro gaming perfect. 4:3 is the best. followed by 3:2 ( bit wider, better for modern games, but still good for retro ) then the 1:1...amazing for shoots and protable systems. 16:9 is really lame and only gives an edge for PSP, or Android games, or eventually WII in wide mode... As usual, the perfect handheld is a moving target... This one has a very confuse use case, IMO. Less value for money than the RP3/3+ for a T618, less power and spec customization than the KTR1. This could have a niche as a GC/PS2 device - it's the smallest T618 so far, which is nice, and top-stick + some thickness is maybe going to make it more comfortable than the RP3+ for that - but inline, non-analog triggers and the low screen rez is a disappointment.
There's nothing wrong with the screen resolution. The chipset is not powerful enough for PS2 and GC, 1x internal resolution is better with 480p screen. And for DC, using 2x internal resolution will give better AA because of supersampling. 2D graphic such as on Snes and Genesis is also better with 480p. If the screen has higher resolution, the 2d games will become more pixelated. It also gives more room for the use of extensive shader. The only downside of this screen is for PSP and android games. But there is already RP3+ for that.
The "low screen res" 4:3 aspect is because it is mostly used for emulators and that is a good resolution for integer scaling on many emulators. Also on a screen this small 640 x 480 is not bad, I have the RG350M with the same resolution and it is fine.
The size, resolution, and aspect ratio are perfect for retro games. I received mine about a week ago and it truly is the perfect retro handheld. I quite like the inline shoulder buttons. They work really well

Really looking forward to the KT-R1. From what I've seen, the Helio G99 should give us a nice little performance boost.
As well as the answer to the upcoming RP3 Plus Metal.
I thought I played all the medal of honors wtf lol
2023 & we're still up only to PS1 emulation !? REALLY #anbernic !?
It's way past ps1 your being sarcastic it plays dreamcast, psp Saturn it also streams and plays some ps2 and GameCube games
@@mackw919 I WANT ALL !! you hear me.. ALL !!
Too bad it cant stream from ps5 app…
Wheres that 405V at? Lol
Don't give them any ideas, too many choices! 😅
if this had a better chipset and 720p screen I would go for this
This is the 'better' chipset.. most retro handheld today stuck with rk3566, cant even run dreamcast properly
KTR1 should bring better performance, hoping to get my hands on one... eventually. 😅
I'm subscribed to too many channels. Many of my favorite channels are posting videos at the same time. 😥
Oh no! 😅😭
Same man😅
AHN-Ber-nic. not anBERnic
Great video! But the way you pronounce “anBERnic” irks me!
Keep your gotm takes to yourself! 😂
😅🤣 Riiiiiidge Racer!
This device is nothing special when there's better handhelds on the market but this low powered device will jedi mind trick some people for its purchase lol.
What would be a better choice? I want to play nes, gba, sega md, and N64. ?? I was looking at retroid pocket 3 plus possibly?
A man does this have built-in games?
Anbernic usually has options with an included micro SD card that has built-in games.
