    @coldie07 my hair was 10 days old I had just loc'd it ...depending on your texture it shouldnt come out and if a few come undone just retwist them also you can wear a stocking OR put rubber bands on the roots to keep the hair in parts so if it comes out its still parted and u can retwist them my hair is very thick so i didnt have to worry I knew they wouldnt come out my suggestion is clean them gently like I say in the video you can alway clean with a stocking cap on

    @MrAndreas287b thats a good question about the washing and retwisting!!! Well as far as the washing goes I say wash when you need to if your hair feel dirty or if you workout and sweat wash it dont be afraid your hair wont loc its more important to have clean healthy hair it will loc in time I say start washing as soon as it feels dirty as you can see I started my own locs with 2 strand twists and I washed them at 10 days and that was my second time that week it was the summer time hot as hell

    what makes your hair lock is the nots and dead hair {shaded hair} but going that long u build up dirt and oils in her from the oils or gels use and from the body the hair needs to be somewhat dry so the hair can not and catch on each other

    @misspotential I will! I just have some questions that i hope you could help with! When i'm starting the locks, how long time do you think is best before washing? And when i'm retwisting them the first time after wash, should i just do like i startet? You know like with gel and twisting. Thanks again!

    I've heard washing it often helps the locing process as well. I'm using the towel rub method to start mine. It's maybe an inch and a half to close to an inch, and I've washed them and they come out. Is it the length or type of hair that makes a difference?

    @MuckBoiKurt my hair is already loc'd and its only been 7 months I have very thick hair and when I wash it it aids in the meshing some people have to take certain precautions with new locs but its a myth that you shouldnt wash your locs early on most professionals of natural hair recommend that you wash your hair regularly this video was done in july you can imagine how hot it gets in the summer not to mention I workout on a semi regular basis there is no way I would wash only every 3 weeks thnx

  • @misspotential
    @misspotential  14 лет назад

    @MrAndreas287b just oil and water I did a video the other day showing how well that worked. I would swear by that now I love it. My other advice that it took me some time to learn is no matter what you use less is more using too much gel will cause a buildup issue and thats not fun to deal with. But yes if you are using gel to retwist your locs use gel USE clear water based gels stay away from those black one also if its too thick like greasy dont use it its gonna be hell to get out of you hair

  • @misspotential
    @misspotential  14 лет назад

    @MrAndreas287b and because it was so hot I found myself wetting if not washing my hair on a almost daily basis just to get relief from the heat so when it comes to when to wash I say soon as you feel ready if you have a itchy scalp or dirty scalp WASH !!! About retwisting thats a matter of what you use when I started my locs I used ic fantasia I used mango and lime (which was not good for me ) and root stimulator loc and twist gel ic fantasica was my fav but now I learned I can retwist with ...

    @misspotential  13 лет назад

    @MSkyy85 Dont even argue with people about what you do with your hair especially with dreds everybody has an opinion on how to start them how to take care of them and how to do damn near everything just remember that less is MORE and washing is not something to forgo just to loc up "faster" for me washing actually helped the locing process and I dont even retwist my hair anymore I free form now my hair is so thick and strong for that!!! Check out my latest update.
