Lampard is definitely table 3 minimum (personally I’d put him 2 because I’m biased) , who else is scoring 18-20 goals a season from central midfield. I dont know how you think gerrard and scholes have a better international career than lampard. Lampard was in team of the tournament in 2004 euros. 2nd in the ballon d'or so he ticks the peack box. G/A ticks the box. IQ ticks the box. Passing absolutely underated in his game and defensively aswell underatted. UCL big performances for chelsea ticks that box. 15 year stretch of being 1 of if not the best midfielder in the prem so longevity he ticks. I can hear lampard not above scholes and gerrard even tho i disagree. But him in table 3 is disguisting.
Usually agree with you Lyes but Carrick is a victim of being underrated to the point of becoming overrated. Henderson is the definition of an actual underrated midfielder. But him not being able to control a midfield and dominate a game for me is a myth. Maybe not to the extent of the other two english midfielders but he could definently do that, seeing as Gerrard had to dominate for Liverpool and controlling the midfield was Scholes's job for United. But having watched loads of sds videos regarding this topic, it is obvious you don't rate him that much. At the end of the day this is your list, so I have no qualms about it. Me personally, I find it hard to compare and rank retired and current players with each other for several reasons. - I’m too young to have watched all these players when they were active and in their prime. I can’t base it on clips and stories. Naturally I’m more familiar with current players - Football is changing constantly. These players played in different eras - Active players still have time to develop and become greater with time - I think with time, our view of certain players change and we start to believe they were better/worse than they actually were I know this is just for fun and it was a fun stream to watch! I’m not trying to make it into a serious thing. I’m just saying that for me, it’s hard to compare
Fr, it’ll never be a perfect science. I think the fun is less in an objective ranking and more in seeing what Lyes rates in players and loves about the beautiful game

You gotta switch zidane with kdb or sergio. I love zidane but he was always extremely inconsistent like yaya was. Zizou is easily top of table 2 but kdb or sergio ALWAYS perform, sergio moreso
Tiers are not baddd. Don't agree much with the order of all of them. Think Alonso, Yaya Schweinsteiger Pogba are unlucky. Isco, Fabregas and Ozil a little lucky. Personally rate Keane, Lamps and Rodri above Kante too. Underrated Seedorf a bit too.
@@LyesClips Im portuguese so this may be biased, but i think that the champions league with porto, while being the best player on the team, that alone is more impressive then anything Isco ever did put together. Was he ever even on the top 30 players of the year, in any year?
Genuinely Great List. People should realize that everyone will have a slightly different opinion on at least a few players. The fact that I would change like only 5-6 players by only one tier speaks for the list being really great.
People sometime forget what type of player Gattuso was. He was the engine of that Ancelotti team, so much so that most of the players considered him indispensable for the team to work. He was like a dam for the defense but in the same time he was able to transmit energy and motivation to everyone in the most difficult moments, both to the club and the national team. I genuinely miss him and that trio he formed with Clarence and Pirlo, we haven't had a trio with that chemistry ever since they retired...
You're not being consistent with your criteria. Based on your standards, Gerrard shouldn’t be in Table 2. nothing major internationally and one Champions League title. Aside from that, he won zero league titles. It’s hard to justify placing him so high based on your own criteria,Yaya Touré won multiple titles at both the club and international levels. yet is table 4 ,what did pogba did at club level?
By your logic Anderson and Nicky But should be on the list because they have "more major honours". Trophy logic is dumb. Watch football with your eyes.
very nice video. But putting Schweinsteiger under Thiago, Isco, Fabregas or Pogba is totally wrong. 8 league titles 1 world cup + 2 times 3rd place at a world cup 1 Euro final + 2 Euro semi finals 1 Champions League + 2 lost CL finals + 2 CL semi finals ... This man was among the absolute elite of football for 10 years.
A lot of trophy tax here but not a bad list. If we’re talking ability alone as a midfielder Gerrard is tier 1 for me. The guy kept Liverpool relevant for 15 years. Ultimate big game player, only player to score in UEL UCL FA LEAGUE cup finals. An absolute monster. The one season he played where KDB played his whole career he scored 25 goals (which Kdb haas never closely got to). Kdb has also been playing with a much much better team.
No he isn’t a big game player! He has instanbaul but that was a team performance, disrespectful to pin it all on Gerrard especially when they were 3-0 down in the first place because he couldn’t control the midfield. What other big games has he performed in? An fa cup final against West Ham???! How is that impressive 😭
Kante honestly could be higher. Hes won basically everything but the euros, was an integral part of every winning team, and the most crucial part of a champions league winning underdog team. And as a player he was insanely good. His relentlessness, reading of the game, tackling, and then later his dribbling and passing were better than most in his position. Imo, since busquets, we're yet to see a defensive midfielder as good at their job as kante. Not caseimro, not rodri at least currently.
To do what he has done in terms of creation without a main striker is crazy (aguero was hurt for the most part and sterling couldn’t finish) most complete creator on this list and underrated defender, doesn’t make sense why hes not tier 1
All things considered pretty good list, Only thing I’d switch is Yaya over Isco, and Busi over Pirlo love this content ! Please keep doing more of these 🫡
Decent list overall but you can see where Lyes completely disregards his own criteria. Isco, Thiago and Verratti have no right being over Gundogan, Schweinsteiger and Vidal. Isco spent 9 whole years at Madrid and Lyes spent 1/3 of the vid waxing lyrical about 2 seasons, where he was good, yes, but never was he even considered a top 2 midfielder for them. Verratti gave you 35+ games a season maybe twice, 3 times in his whole career, same could be said about Thiago. This list feels like he only really cares for the eye test criteria.
Modric is a more complete player. Can defend, control, attack, pass and score. Has one of the best engines and is constantly running. Those tackles are a joy to behold. He has the moments, the carry job and the trophy cabinet. KDB is in no way shape or form better than Modric and that's coming from someone who loves KDB.

He was out of position in the latest euros as well. No hate to Modric he is one of my favorite players of all time but saying his world cup campaign every opportunity , But he and kdb I think are on same level, He can be a little higher than KDB but not kroos and Pirlo.
Instead of just World Cup, what should be argued for Modric vs KdB is Modric’s many iconic moments in the Champions League, all timer performances that push Madrid over the line and then eventual winners many times. Genuinely Madrid would not win as many CLs without him.
I honestly think KDB modric is that close, imo KDB performed better when they faced off, he’s even got different stages of his career, 13-15 was a wide 10, box to box from 16-18 then from 19-20 complete midfielder, then 21-22 a pure goalscorer, 23-24 playmaker, obviously he was a playmaker in the other years but he had difference of roles in the team

- Football is changing constantly. These players played in different eras
- Active players still have time to develop and become greater with time

Kante honestly could be higher. Hes won basically everything but the euros, was an integral part of every winning team, and the most crucial part of a champions league winning underdog team.
Why is bernado so low???
For me i think debruyne is better than modriĉ, but overall agreed
Modric is a more complete player. Can defend, control, attack, pass and score. Has one of the best engines and is constantly running. Those tackles are a joy to behold. What does Pirlo and Kroos have over KDB ? How can he be below those two. KDB beats those 2 in almost every single category.
People says he has never performed for Belgium or say like Hazard carried him in that world cup but they forget kdb got them to that semi final. he scored a worldie against Brazil, He was one of the main reason they went that far and its not his fault lukaku misses every single chance he creates.

Lampard is a level above Silva. One of the greatest long range shooters and could score like no other midfielder. And his passing was underrated af
59:40 we forgetting seedorfs work for Ajax and madrid???? His Milan days was the backend of his career pretty much
the backend? he left Ajax at age 19😂 and he played for Milan from ages 26-32, which are the best years for most players.
@@anilquitter9304 You know what I mean don’t be dense. Milan was the last team he played for and he was already 10+ years into his career by the time he joined them
Thank you so much for respecting Ozil his too disrespected. He a baller
Kdb based on ability only should be 1st
Greatness iniesta Xavi Zidane all got it
😂😂😂
LMAAAO
Cook 🔥🔥🔥
For those laughing based on ability meaning
Shooting
Dribbling
Passing/crossing
Vision
Playmaking
Athleticism
Weak foot
Free kicks
Etc
Taking over games , kdb ticks all of those boxes over every single midfielder, straight ability at his best he’s much more potent than those midfielders that people rank 1st
@@Prime1Wunna why are all these attributes offensive attributes?
very solid list, id have a few differences but refreshing to not have a heavily premier league biased list
I agree mostly with your list, but I think Ballack is a tier too high and Bernardo Silva is a tier too low
sound reasoning i can’t argue how you placed everyone (even my favourite Vieira LOL)
quality content.
