Ultimate Strawberry Cream Cheese Pie ~ Testing A New Springtime Dessert

- Today, I am trying out this Ultimate Strawberry Cream Cheese Pie to possibly add to my Spring Dessert repertoire.
This was sent to me along with a sweet note from Debbie, a faithful subscriber.
here is her exact recipe. (If you need to know the changes I made please reference the video.)
Ultimate Strawberry Cream Cheese Pie
1 Pie crust
12oz Cream cheese
4 heaping Tbls sugar
3 cups sliced strawberries
1 cup chocolate chips divided
2 Tbls oil divided
1/2 cup chopped pecans
*Bake Pie crust after piercing with fork at 400° for 13 to 15 minutes
*Melt 1/2 cup chocolate chips with 1 Tbls oil in microwave
*spread chocolate on bottom and sides of Pie crust.
*In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and 1/4 cup of strawberries
*Spread cream cheese mixture over chocolate in pie crust.
*Top cream cheese mixture with remaining strawberries
*melt remaining chocolate with oil and drizzle over strawberries
*sprinkle with nuts and chill

Today is February 23. I am outside of Philadelphia, in Bucks County, Pa.
It felt like spring as it was almost 70. The day started out foggy, cool, and not promising at all. Our bulbs are up, no flowers yet.
Am so grateful to God for this beautiful, inspiring day.
You're pretty close to me I'm in Arendtsville PA. close to Gettysburg. PA.
Quite the difference from me up here in Central Pa, I’m between Williamsport & Loch Haven, 37 degrees, clear & windy(2/24). But PA has 3 “planting zones” or hardiness zones. You live in the small corner that has a more warmer climate. 7b, I’m in 6a up in the Appalachian range. Wild how different our weather is just 4 hours or so away.

I am watching from State College PA 2/1/2024. It is in the low 40s cloudy day. I am a southern girl (old lady 84). Moved up from MS to live with son and family. Yes it is February 1 2024 when I found this video. I do not know why this one popped up because I usually get the most recent ones. I did enjoy this one. You are right about the strawberries not being sweet out of season. I grew up in Memphis in the 40s and 50s before moving to MS to find a job. My grandmother would get strawberries from an old black man that drove a horse and wagon thru the neighborhoods selling fresh strawberries. In Jackson MS there was a man that brought his truck loaded with fresh strawberries to a shopping center each day to sell strawberries. Nothing like the homegrown strawberries.
I'm watching Thursday afternoon, 2/23, 4:45 pm. central time. Mmmmm! I miss my NC mtn. home!!! 😢 Here in Illinois it's a damp, windy 31° (wind chill 20°! 🥶 Brrrrrr!). Rained all day yesterday. I live near Starved Rock State Park. I watch you, Collard Valley, Mandy, Hillbilly Kitchen &; Whippoorwill Holler so I can hear my "native tongue". Hubby is from Chicago. I told him it's good to be "bi-lingual"! LoL! Can't wait to try the pie! And that's the FUN & JOY of cooking! Make the recipe YOURS! Our temps have been higher but we are having intermittent rain showers. I have enjoyed watching your program for over a year but I have just never commented before. 2/23, Thursday, I live in Nicholson, GA about 60 miles from Atlanta and our weather is 76 right now at 5:16 pm! It was 80 yesterday!! I also have on shorts and a tank top, cleaning house!! Oh yeah cut the AC on yesterday and today!! I am making this dessert, anything with strawberries I’m all In! Have a great weekend and thank you for being you!! ❤

I just recently moved to Beebe Arkansas from southeast TX. I think we were in the upper 70's today (2/23/23). I have never been a fan of milk choc & fruit but I really like white choc & strawberry, so I will try it that way. I will say it sure did look yummy though! Oddly, I am also not a huge fan of bananas but I LOVE them with choc...I know! I found your channel around the time you started remodeling your kitchen - gorgeous by the way! Oh wow! I lived on Brand Rd. in Loganville until I was 11. It was TINY when I lived there in the 70s! Went to school at Grayson Elementary! Everyone says I wouldn't recognize it now. I'm in Athens, TN. Our temp was also 80 today, 2/23/23. Broke records here as well. I work in an old building that has a boiler system. NO thermostat! It's still on heat because they don't switch it over to air conditioning until they are sure the cold weather is over. Needless to say it was WARM in there today. Thank goodness for windows and fans! It's Feb 25th and i am watching from Elkford B.C. Canada! 3 nights ago it went to -27 Fahrenheit! It has warmed up and last night was only -17 below! I am so over winter and ready for spring!

We have a deacons ordination service at our church in April. Our Pastor, Minister of Children and Families, deacon chairman, and a deacon are diabetic. So I made this with sugar free chocolate chips, no sugar added whip cream, fat free cream cheese, monk fruit and frozen strawberries as a trial run today. (😉). It was delicious!
