  • This is a video essay about the character of Jay Pritchett from the television show Modern Family (2009 - 2020). We live in a world where masculinity has become difficult to define. In this video, I give my reasoning as to why I believe Jay Pritchett is a pillar of modern masculinity. This video takes a closer look at his character and what makes him so special. When some people think of the ultimate man, they may go to characters like James Bond, or if you want to stick to TV, perhaps Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation. These characters are detached from our reality and can only exist in fiction, but a person like Jay Pritchett could very easily be real, and so Jay is a shining example of what all men should aspire to be. What makes Jay so great is his desire to change, his desire to be better, and his love for his family.

Thanks man. I think Modern Family is pretty slept on, so I wasn't expecting many people to watch this video.
I really felt like making it though. Glad you liked it and I appreciate you commenting. Nice knowing those numbers under the video are real people.

That just makes it sound like you didn't like the video itself though xD
