  • 1 full lap of the Betteshanger track at full chat chasing Slash in his Beano streamliner - I'm in Woodstock. See if you spot the point at which my chain jumps off...

    That's a perspective on Slash we don't get to see very often. Rotten luck with the chain.

    In these Human Powered Vehicle races the streamliners always seem to be in a parallel race.
    Everyone else seems somewhat laid back and enjoying the ride while the streamlines are going to battle with each other. Wouldn't mind there being a streamliner league to watch.

      @russellbridge  18 дней назад +12

      See my other videos for power data. The power pedals didn't connect on this ride for some reason. The 1hr race was 199W for 36.3mph or 58.4km/h

      @@russellbridge that's crazy low for the speed! Do you think the lack of cooling limits power output?

      @@elliotpollard9083 no the ventilation is good enough. It's the engine that doesn't have enough power... :)

      In 14months of riding Snoopy and Woodstock that's the first (and second!) time the chain has ever jumped off. Chain keepers x 2 have now been fitted!

    Great riding and I think I can pick the spot where the chain came off.
    Absolutely glued to Beanos rear bumper is where I've been hoping that you'd stay. Next thing I need to hope for is that you can sort your chain issues.

    Great vid. WTF did Slash bounce off of? Looked like it would hurt. Great drafting. Assuming he knows you're there and wondering about strategy. How long does he let you mooch off of his efforts. Mixed classes just like car endurance racing. Same issues too, LOL.

    I think the biggest question I have is.... How the hell do you still have a working copy of Garmin Virb Edit?!!

    • @russellbridge
      @russellbridge  9 дней назад +1

      You don't 100% need the mapping element. The advantage here is that I can see the moment I press start on the Garmin, so as long as I start the Gopro first and then the garmin later, I can sync it in Virb Edit. Still a really poor show from Garmin to stop support of something that lots of their products rely on.

      @@russellbridge Ah, that makes sense. My issue is huge FIT files (multi-day bike packing) and many, many clips of various lengths. Nightmare. I have my fingers crossed some big-brain comes up with a new work-around. I wish Blackmagic would acquire Virb Edit from Garmin and incorporate it(or something similar) into Davinci Resolve

    • @russellbridge
      @russellbridge  24 дня назад +4

      Hi mate. Thankfully I could detect it before I got to the corner - the wheels each make a resonant buzz inside the shell and the tone of the buzz changed so I knew something was up. Well that and the rear end started squirming around! I stopped and ran a few hundred metres with the bike and ICE trike guys did a quick puncture repair for me. I need to sort a chain keeper at the top of the front 'ring - it'd never jumped off before...
