- 1 full lap of the Betteshanger track at full chat chasing Slash in his Beano streamliner - I'm in Woodstock. See if you spot the point at which my chain jumps off...
That's a perspective on Slash we don't get to see very often. Rotten luck with the chain.
In these Human Powered Vehicle races the streamliners always seem to be in a parallel race.
Everyone else seems somewhat laid back and enjoying the ride while the streamlines are going to battle with each other. Wouldn't mind there being a streamliner league to watch.
I expected them to be much more faster than that 🤔.
Would be great to see power data to compare it to a uci bike. I bet they're crazy efficient!
See my other videos for power data. The power pedals didn't connect on this ride for some reason. The 1hr race was 199W for 36.3mph or 58.4km/h
@@russellbridge that's crazy low for the speed! Do you think the lack of cooling limits power output?
@@elliotpollard9083 no the ventilation is good enough. It's the engine that doesn't have enough power... :)
Dang, that’s a total bummer. Looked like a really good race and you two were flying.
Amazing vid!! What a battle
i rode streamliners in the 00Years… The fucking most important thing is that the drivetrain works flawlessly…. Lucky that nothing more bad happened.
In 14months of riding Snoopy and Woodstock that's the first (and second!) time the chain has ever jumped off. Chain keepers x 2 have now been fitted!
Great riding and I think I can pick the spot where the chain came off.
Absolutely glued to Beanos rear bumper is where I've been hoping that you'd stay. Next thing I need to hope for is that you can sort your chain issues.
maintaining that 160 BPM like it's a warmup, impressive.
Looks like the jetsons. Great footage.
This is all very humbling to one on a stationary bike this morning. (but most of us DO end up where we started each day)
That is awesome, you were right on his tail. How did you get so much faster? He used to fly off down the track and leave everyone, including you, in the dust. I hope that you got faster rather than him slowing down.
Woodstock is coming along splendidly. Bravo, Russell!
fucks sake is right, nice to see some solid cornering coming out of the two wheel bent world.
POV is cool as fuck! YT recommended, but I’ve always wanted to see this. Just never looked lol
That looks like so much fun! Do you turn all by leaning or are the levers not only for braking? Gears? Curious! 🎉
Fucks sake! Indeed. What happened? I kept wanting you to pull around that guy, but he was pretty good at cornering and swift. Good ride!
Thanks new world champion
Well, not quite, but top of the fully faired two wheelers at least! Great to meet you at the weekend :)
@@russellbridge World Champion of the fully faired two wheels is a great title!
Tight pants for more aero😀
Haha. I can see I was cheering you up at 0:55 :) It looked like you were both realy in to it.
So cool! Can't believe you don't have power data with such an elaborate machine, though.
Is there much ventilation or ability to look around in these?
Great vid. WTF did Slash bounce off of? Looked like it would hurt. Great drafting. Assuming he knows you're there and wondering about strategy. How long does he let you mooch off of his efforts. Mixed classes just like car endurance racing. Same issues too, LOL.
And it was all going so well.
Guess that was the chain coming off for the first or second time.
Amazing video Russell, a real shame with the puncture. Was the video running still when you nearly ran over the squirrel?
No it'd stopped by then unfortunately! Not what I was expecting to have to watch out for... :)
But you still came first in fully faired! Yippee!!
Awesome speed, nice battle. How annoying having a mechanical 😮
Not just one but three! The chain jumped off twice, and one rear puncture. If it wasn't for those I'd have done a sub-3hr 100 mile
@@russellbridge 😬😬
Was it when you excaimed FFS !!!!! lol
Isn't it too hot in this can?
Golly!
I think the biggest question I have is.... How the hell do you still have a working copy of Garmin Virb Edit?!!
You don't 100% need the mapping element. The advantage here is that I can see the moment I press start on the Garmin, so as long as I start the Gopro first and then the garmin later, I can sync it in Virb Edit. Still a really poor show from Garmin to stop support of something that lots of their products rely on.
@@russellbridge Ah, that makes sense. My issue is huge FIT files (multi-day bike packing) and many, many clips of various lengths. Nightmare. I have my fingers crossed some big-brain comes up with a new work-around. I wish Blackmagic would acquire Virb Edit from Garmin and incorporate it(or something similar) into Davinci Resolve
WOW !! What wa the temprature inside ??
It started at 34°C and went down to 25°C as the sun dropped

A flat on a corner at those speeds. Crikey!
Hi mate. Thankfully I could detect it before I got to the corner - the wheels each make a resonant buzz inside the shell and the tone of the buzz changed so I knew something was up. Well that and the rear end started squirming around! I stopped and ran a few hundred metres with the bike and ICE trike guys did a quick puncture repair for me. I need to sort a chain keeper at the top of the front 'ring - it'd never jumped off before...
brutal
Эххх. А я болел за тебя! Долбанная цепь.
I think someone needs to go back to Acronym school.
