One thing I will say about SF4 is that it catered to individuality. Three pros could play the same character and we could get 3 different play styles of said character. I feel like that has lessened over time
But the reason for that is not what you think. The biggest reason everyone plays the same in 5 and 6 is because of the CFN. Every match goes to the cloud, and you can watch every top player's matches, as well as turn on their inputs. You can see their tech and option selects. Combine that with twitch, Twitter, and RUclips, and big prize money, and the games become optimized almost over night. Do not make the mistake of thinking that SF4 doesn't have an optimal way to play it. If it had a million dollar CPT prize and a CFN on par with SF6, you would see everyone playing these characters the same way too.

The reason why SF4 looks so diverse and interesting is the same reason that old black and white sports replays look so interesting and unique compared to modern day sports that are optimized and homogenous. Nobody knew what was optimal in the SF4 era, so they just made up their own valid, yet suboptimal, play styles.

If the game is open there is no such thing as optimal, because multiple playstyles are rewarded, and what comes out on top is the player not the character. That is my point. Now everyone can do most combos so there is no consideration on this point. I remember always getting praised for hitting them without plinking and people being like....omg dude you're on pad! I always hated that because it sounded, was, and still is a very stupid thing to say imo. People were always over exaggerating it. I have beaten TONS of stick players that felt some type of way when they lost to me. As if I beat them with a handicap because I was on pad, which again, is very dumb to me. That's why I was so glad when folks like Smug and some others came along to show folks the truth. I gained Fei Long, Gen, Rose, and Hakan, though I played most of the cast.

Nearly Everything in this game is just perfect . The satisfying sound of the hits , the sound of the throw tech and the amount the tech pushes you back to reset neutral . I believe if they rereleased this with roll back net code ( although I rarely had connection problems ) it would be the main game again . Because lights and mediums link so well The combo routes are endless . I will never understand why following games would not allow 2 or 3 crouching jabs or shorts or mediums into a link to not combo , it just makes most bread and butters all the same .
Because of the frame data, Capcom Will need to make medium attacks 3 or 4 frames, street 5 and 6 dont have proximity normals to increase the speed of reaction and to balance the long and close range attacks ex: Sakura have a 3 frame heavy attack is broken but is jailed in a proximity normal.
This is the difference with 4. I can watch pros and be in awe of the things they do because i cant knowing how hard it is. In 6 i feel i can do anything the pros do. Theres nothing jawdropping about it watching or playing it. That cr.HP counter hit into ultra was amazing and difficult as hell.

Mai's cleavage is too covered up. 11.Terry looks like a 40 yr old tryna be hip. 12.Reaching Master rank is very easy. 13.MR points reward in Ranked is shitty. 14.Lvl 3 does too much damage for these fg mechanics. 15. Zoning in SF6 is Sagat SFV level annoying. 16.Costumes are too expensive. 17.Perfect Parry carries too much. 18 Blanka's even more annoying. 19.Throw loops. 20.Pros gaslight with their tier lists.
