  • Lolopuko performing Arts group is not a church youth group it is actually a Family fanau youth members who are willing and proud to preserve our cultures and identity as young Tongan growing up in Aoteroa.
Lolopuko is one of two tiny freshwater streams that flows during low tide in our parents hometown, Leimatu’a in the Island of Vavau in Tonga. This freshwater streams are very clean and drinkable and our ancestors use it during droughts back in the days to fetch water for cooking and other domestic activities or even bathe as they came back from their fishing. But when it high tides you can not find this freshwater along the coastal line so its only at low tide that our ancestors were able to make advantage of this freshwater. The good thing is it still there even now .and its our dedication and appreciation of our heritages and especially our nena who is turning 83yrs old next month that our children came together to honour our Tongan language week and we formally started this performing arts group to enhance and enrich Aoteroa with our heritages and to prolong and encourage our tamariki to be proud of their roots and cultures even though they are faraway from our hometown in Tonga.
Thank you to everyone who supported and contributed to the establishment of Lolopuko performing arts.
