I think you both should stick with the format you feel most comfortable with. While I understand that some people prefer the reaction format, it's important that you create content that you enjoy making. I personally love album reactions, but I also really enjoyed this podcast format. It could be interesting if you found a way to combine the two in the future. I get that there's pressure to have an immediate analysis during a reaction, but it's totally normal not to love every song on the first listen or to feel unsure about what to say right away. Listening to your thoughts after you've had more time with the album was refreshing, and it’s great to see how opinions can evolve. I love your content and wish you both the best! I'm posting this comment on both RUclips and Patreon because I hope people will be understanding and not demand a certain type of content just because it's their preference. Also, English is not my first language, so I hope this comes across clearly.
So happy to hear your thoughts on the album (though I disagree with your position of Road Movie 🥲)! I really like this style of album review more than just a reaction because I agree that the way we consume music is different than how we consume something visual like an MV. Would love to see this format for future albums as well!
Yeah me too, I really like this format, it’s something different - there are so many album reactions out there but not as many put together ✨thoughts✨ that can only really come after letting the songs marinate for a bit I won’t lie, it’s also nice to have this as audio only, because then I can get stuff done around the house and not feel like I’m missing out on anything when I’m not looking at the screen
The reason I started and became obsessed with your recaps is how thoughtful and sincere you guys will be talking about the stuff you like. So, I loved this dive. It is interesting that they're providing a fantasy, whether that's a video game, traveling to fantastical worlds, or a movie, we're being whisked away on a journey BUT it's important we're traveling together 😭 for eternity. A lot of what you guys said made me appreciate the album even more. I think it is my favorite mini album sonically it's so full and I do feel transported, but Melting Point is a close second. Like the other girls, I'm a road movie apologist. After I listen to it, I have to listen to it twice. It reminds me of experimental show tunes, like Alice by Heart. Honestly, if you put a classical instrument in a pop song, I'm going to like it 🤣
i personally loved road movie! the rhythm of the rap/chant verses is so cool and pleasing to the ears. then they hit you with the angel's prechorus. loved the last "chorus" as well. i really loved the whole album because each song feels like it has a home in an established movie genre! while i love melting point the most, cinema paradise feels more like it has a set concept in that sense.
This might sound like a massive reach, but hear me out. I think what's really so wonderful about ZB1's music as a whole is that it feels like an adult fondly looking back on their life and trying to capture that joyful feeling of growing up and being in love and discovering yourself for the first time, but the songs are all told through the lens of someone who knows that these feelings aren't going to last forever because they've already lived through it and that makes them all the more precious. Plus, I feel like even if you don't connect with that interpretation, you still get the exact same feeling whenever you remember that this group you love is temporary. It's like this fleeting moment of happiness that comes and goes, but still keeps giving you comfort for years to come whenever you think about it. Also, I really enjoyed the podcast format! Would love to get more episodes in the future, even for older/non zb1 albums if you feel so inclined :)
As a new watcher and 8-5 desk jockey, I enjoyed the radio format! HUGE MASSIVE agree for unit songs. I have mind-mapped so many units and their sounds because their voices are SO interesting together. Like, follow me here, a Jiwoong/Ricky/Hanbin jazz-inspired track. I'm cooking. Anyway, thank you for your thoughts on the album, I had a great time!
I didn't watch it full but please say you liked Road Movie! It's such a fun song and composition is so good! I LOVE IT! Taerae's vocals make me ascend and Matthew needs to rap more!
I absolutely love love love this format !! Ya’ll bring such a unique flavor to reactions and i always love your analysis in whatever way ya’ll are comfortable sharing with us. As a fellow NPR girly i would love to see ya’ll do more album reactions like this again !!!
I really enjoyed this podcast format - I could do my cooking while listening to you guys compare Beyoncé with ZB1! Your thoughts on the through line of “eternity” and “never ending”-ness of ZB1’s discography was really interesting (and contrary to their contract length 😢) and I also really enjoy how they blend melancholy with youthfulness and hopefulness. This album was a banger and definitely feels more well produced compared to the last album - from the concept to the theme to the variety of songs. ETA: Road movie was such a pleasant surprise and it’s my top 3 in this album!
yayyy im gonna listen to this while i clean the house after work :D i hope u both don’t feel pressured to make videos in a certain format, we all love ur content no matter what form it’s in!! pls continue to make the videos you want to make 🫶🏼
insomnia definitely my fav and you guys are right, nothing can beat back to zerobase. i want to go back in time to feel the goosebumps i felt when i heard back to zerobase for the first time.
me gusta que sea podcast pero también como el inglés no es mi primer idioma me siento en un listening de una clase de inglés jajaja prefiero verlos porque puedo interpretar mejor lo que dicen pero igual los amo chicos ❤
I prefer to get an album discussion over a reaction! If you enjoy the format I think you should keep it. Personally I prefer video over radio. I love your recap format and I think it could work well for albums as well. Call it album recaps and throw some coverart in the corner!
i love this format! i love how well thought this is and i definitely also think that with albums it’s difficult to form opinions right off the first listen and we shouldn’t anyways!
Who said it was a good idea to listen to this while lying down. I ended up sleeping to it and YT played two more of your over 30 minute-reactions while I was in dream PARADISE 😭
I also disliked road movie until I started streaming the album. It took a good 10 listens or so but I might like it more than KTR at this point. Insomnia is number 1 forever though.
Also I am a big fan of the podcast format as I was able to listen to it while getting ready this morning. Honestly just do whatever content y'all like to make and I'll be here to watch
Adam being a "Back to ZEROBASE" enthusiast is so real 🗣🗣 i think my top 5 ZB1 songs are Kidz Zone, Take My Hand, Back to ZEROBASE, Solar POWER and Yura Yura in no order cause my preferences change all the time
I don't know if it's because I don't have any visuals to go with it, but you guys sound extra crisp and for that reason alone I'm absolutely loving this format ^^
Really liked this style better. I think this way we can actually hear your honest thoughts on the album because I do agree that, even though the other way we can see your reactions to a FIRST LISTEN, sometimes that’s not fair to the album since some songs do need more than one listen to actually appreciate the work that went into them. Plus, in was nice to be able to work and listen to this at the same time and not having to worry about missing something happening on the screen 😂
I enjoyed this breakdown and was able to listen while working on work things. I've been playing this album non-stop since it came out, but it's interesting because I think overall agree, I prefer You Had Me At Hello as a whole album. But I think 'Good So Bad' is my favorite song of ZB1, I think 'Insomnia' is number two, and 'Kill the Romeo' number three off this album. It's funny though because initially I was like, 'Road Movie' number one because it took me on a journey lol. I totally agree with you about Ricky, I need more of him and his voice is so beautiful, he kind of reminds me of Sunghoon of Enhypen in that way. They have some of the most beautiful and unique voice I've heard in K-pop but really are used for visual purposes.
I love the podcast format and i do agree that music requires a little bit more time to sink in before being discussed 🤩 My faves from the album is Kill the Romeo, Insomnia and Good so Bad
yess i love this format a lot! the songs definitely deserve some observation before being discussed. SPEAKING OF ETERNITY the upcoming tour is named "timeless world"?!? i feel a heartache everytime this topic is mentioned and they dared to make it the theme of the album!! so annoying
When I listened to the album for the first time and road movie played I thought I was hallucinating because I was convinced my phone started playing an nct song I never heard before.
i've been trying to figure out why good so bad sounds familiar. you mentioned you can't identify any 5th gen bg's doing this sound right now, but melodically and the singing in unison i'm sort of getting one direction?
@@Chrysanthemum1998 yeah they did a reaction in melting point era and was so cool but then no react for yhmah and cinema paradise, i personally dont like reviews without reactions….😖☹️but its okay

I didn't take to Road Movie on the first listen either, but now it's my top favourite on the album with Kill The Romeo.
Road movie really is a sleeper hit. There's something intriguing about the track that compells you to listen again. The melodic chops are so well done
Loved this format! If you enjoyed it, please keep it up!

ugh they totally just decided gyuvin is a rapper but i do hope they continue to grow his vocals!! i don’t want him to just be the rapper!
I LOVED THE SEA. I ALSO THOUGHT IT WAS CANDY. UGH SO GOOD

Road Movie is their best bside
I love insomnia too 🥹🫶🏻✨
oh-
interesting that you both love the song i like the least lol it's a great song but i cannot deal with the speed, it makes me anxious
Same, but perhaps not for the same reason, Bada is too saccharine for me and I usually skip it. 😅
oh no reaction 😖
Maybe next time they can combine both. An initial reaction and then a recap after having sat with the album for a week
