Totally agree about the art being cut off. I really can’t understand why they did that. It makes no sense. Mine also came stuck together, so many cards got damaged when I was separating them. I wish they had kept the same card size in matte for the 2nd edition.
Thank you for your comment! 🌸 and yessss sometimes I don’t get it… is it a miss print?! As publisher they don’t have anyone checking production?!? Are they making a sample to check every details before to print in mass?!? So many questions 😅 it is still one of my favorite deck, I have been using it for few years now but…that second print could or should have been perfect.
@@SaltimbancoTarot It just frustrates me when you know how much time and effort the artist puts into creating the deck. Ugh! But I really appreciated your review!
I would think…at least I hope ….miss west had a say in what was added or deleted . If she approved it , and she liked the final product , then I guess it’s just one of those things we must live with 🤷
@@iffer622 very true. She was so intentional about everything she put in her card images that I hate to lose any of it, but if it was a change that she approved of, she must’ve felt that the integrity of her art remained in tact. Regardless, it’s still a very beautiful and unique deck, and I’m happy to have both editions in my collection. But in a perfect world, I would love to have had a slightly larger matte version with the entire image visible. I am still pretty bummed that mine came stuck together and became damaged when I separated the cards. I probably should’ve sent it back for an exchange, but I couldn’t wait to start using it. Knowing me, I’ll end up buying another one and will have three copies. 😃
I'm one of the few who actually prefers the old version, but as I understand it, Gabi herself was hoping the new edition would be linen cardstock. That would be the ultimate deck 🤩
