Unfortunately Facebook has a very POOR system for reporting breaches. There is no way I know to report a stole account or accurately reporting stolen content. This infuriates me! I see it all the time. All media needs a cyber security division that helps creators protect what they worked so hard to produce.
Meta essentially owns any content on their servers. Users of meta can only control what they choose to share and their account settings but the actual content can be used by meta. They think those accounts are theirs to do whatever with including not keeping them safe, because they are.
Why wouldn’t they have a department that handles this? That is weird! It doesn’t take much to figure out you need a department! Sometimes you wonder about the practical common sense and brains behind some of this smart stuff.
This is the problem with technology & social media companies- NO MORE HUMAN CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO PHONE NUMBERS, NO ADDRESSES, NO CONTACT NAMES & NUMBERS! Last week, infront of congress they had a meeting with all the CEOs of social media platform over this matter and making it safe for our kids. Social media is a major part of society. If people want to use the platforms they need to identify themselves and be held responsible for their behavior.
I haven't been able to get on my Facebook account in about 2 years. Someone hacked it and no matter what I do I cannot get a real person to help me. Miss Pam we are all behind you. All you ever do is spread kindness and no one deserves to be treated like this.

I dropped FB years ago when I made a comment (a nice one) on a friends post and a friend of hers after finding out my age (55 at the time) told me to "just die boomer". I reported it to FB and they said it was within their guidelines for this person to say that. I was done. I have never looked back.

I’m sorry for anyone who gets hacked in any way. My parents, ages 98 and 95, recently moved into assisted living. Dad keeps a close eye on his bank account on his computer. Last Friday someone hacked his account and took most of his money. He had to get a ride to his bank to set things straight. As part of his rent at the assisted living facility he is provided one trip a week to a doctor appointment, store, etc. He had to use up this week’s ride to get to his bank, when he really could have used that ride for another purpose. Plus, he had to drag mom along as she can’t be left alone. Dad has a broken back and can barely walk, and mom also has mobility issues. Hackers are selfish and should be ashamed.

Sad that fb is so tardy with their response. I had a similar case I presented to them twice to no avail and all I used my fb for was to keep in touch with my family activities.
I closed my account and alerted fam and friends of the offenses. This is the epitome of their complacency for real issues.

Hey Pam- someone else here commented about contacting your Senator or Congressman. That’s a great idea - I have recently had to do this myself after a tussle with the IRS. Our elected officials have specific people on staff to help with situations like this. Unfortunately I don’t have any connections at meta - but sis- if you set up a GoFundMe for legal fees I’m all in and I’m sure all of your followers will be too!

Exactly the same was done to simply mama cooks. And FB not give two shits and she lost massive amounts of followers. She never been given her true honest fb account for her channel back. The hackers that stole it have and still use it. And post. FB sadly could care less because it’s computers and AI not humans running it.
