Y'know, Lily's design is actually fairly tolerable if you just imagine she's wearing a makeshift wig. Like, made of mop string or even borrowed from a discarded doll.
I'm sure that's not what they were going for, but considering the hair already looks out of place it's not hard to imagine it's fake. It even gives her a tiny bit more character- she's just trying to accessorize.

    • @kile1885
      @kile1885 4 года назад +6

@@phantomninja6079 Its not just that, the structure of the game is the same as a collection, but instead of collecting an object you get points. You're on a small open level with a bunch of things to do, on a mario game you would do something (like getting to the top of the mountain or bringing the penguin down) and be rewarded with a star, on thug2 each goal gives you a certain amount of points to unlock the next level, you don't need to complete all of them, just enough to go to the next level (just like you don't need all stars in mario). And you do them while you explore the map, they're all on a list on the menu, but you need to find where it is and do it by yourself.
I think thug 2 is the one that fits best because in other tony hawk games they give you a timer to do as much as you can in one run, on thug 2 you have unlimited time and you will spend most of it exploring. Thug 1 is also different but it mission based, you need to talk to an npc to activate the mission first, then do it, if a mission is to grind on 5 cars you can't just go there and do it, you need to talk to him and be on the "mission mode", so exploring the map is not as interesting because you are just looking for npcs to tell you what to do, you have no reason to just wonder around. I didn't play american wasteland so I don't know if it's like thug2 too

Frogger: Able to take two hits from most things (some things still kill in one hit)
    Lillie Frog: Fast movement speed
Tad: Able to glide extra long
    Treeby: Triple jump
Wart: Able to eat any insect enemy
Tank: Able to stun animal and robot enemies, making them harmless for a few seconds (no effect on obstacles)
Roobie: Able to eat many obstacles, but not robots or animals
Swampy: Able to eat robots and animals, but will get full if it's used too much, and will have to wait a little to eat again

My younger brother and I played the Windows versions of this game and the previous game all the time when we were kids. He preferred Frogger due to the aesthetics, music, and level design, while I preferred Swampy’s Revenge because of the much improved gameplay and the cute story. We had fun with both, and these two games are responsible for a lot of great memories for me.

I remember me and my sister would play this like crazy. Playing the Tron like mode was our favorite and in race we'd tried to pin each other's frog and time it so that if you wait for a trap or car to come by with enough time to get pass it but have the other person wait, but you can get pinned in the middle of the animation and the other person can get safe and put you in danger so this plan can and will get countered or reversed.

The gliding move isn't actually that implausible. Believe it or not, there are a few species of frogs that can glide using their webbed feet.
Judging from his green color and yellow-ish webbed feet, the Frogger in Swampy's Revenge most likely belongs to a species called Wallace's Flying Frog.

Thank you so much for this review! I had no idea the sequel was far better than the first game. I may look into it some day, just as I've already had bought Zapper for the PS2. It's because of this channel that I've been introduced to so many overlooked platformers and for that I am grateful to have subscribed to this channel!

I distinctly remember watching my brother play this while my mom made orange flavored cinnamon rolls and I always think of this game any time I have them. Anyways, I've now binged half of his stuff because there are soooo many games that he's covered that I thought that no one else had heard of before or just didn't give a shit. 10 out of 10, do recommend.

Mel Blanc's screams are available on the WB SFX library. Blanc's stock screams and vocal effects are used less (because the recordings are old and low-quality) but a lot of studios still own the library because it has a lot of great general cartoon sounds and other SFX. Nintendo used sounds from the library in the finished version of Mario 64, and modified versions of the samples still turn up in Nintendo games occasionally, even today.
