Words like .... stunning; exquisite; gorgeous; flawless and jaw-dropping don't come close to being adequate in describing just how good your work is, I really enjoyed watching how careful your paring skills are, and I agree with Kevin below, work like this is simply Toolmaking in Wood. You put the world to shame !
You can always tell an artisan by the state of his tools and the quality of his finished joints especially dovetails. You Sir are an artiste in wood, and a pleasure to watch.
I have no idea what the hell this is, but the wood is gorgeous, the work beautiful, and your skills amazing. Whatever it is, it will last for centuries.
Thanks for not talking us through every step. You just did the work with utmost precision and that spoke volumes. Craftsmen of all types can learn a lot from watching you work.

Whenever I see one of these "silent" videos I start looking for a foreign language written on something but I get the appeal, Mr. Chickadee style, though he didn't invent it. Nice work piece.
The patience required to get to this level. The skills learned the hours burned to perfect these same skills, the drive it took to invest in all of the tooling used, and the drive to learn to use them all to their full potential. This is a project that took 25+ years to build. I really love the use of the machining of the parts for the perfect fit. It seems that it was more for the perfect aesthetic of the finished piece than the function of each joint. I will have to venture out that this man's career is probably tool-making. I have only seen this level of care taken at the tool and die makers.

The highest level of work, delightful and extremely rare today: the accuracy of the fit of the journals and holes. Actually, I told it wrong - ALL activities were done with phenomenal care. Yes, I think my earlier comments were taken as a dig or some kind of negative comment to the man's overall work but nothing like that was my intention, I was trying to make a joke of some kind and I now see that it went very wrong. First of all, French oak is in my opinion the most beautiful of all the oak varieties. And the man's skill and precision of work quality are second to none. I say BRAVO to your skill and product.
Thank you, little bit of pine resin + pure tung oil+ polyurethane + mineral spirit! The first one is hard to find and not essential just for color depth and lovely smell 😊

Another viewer pointed out this to me, I realized that after publishing this video, at the very end of this video there is a zoomed out shot, however in the 2nd video where I finished attaching the arms I managed to show the entire bench! The workshop is too small and the camera lens focal length is making this task harder 🙂
First of all thanks for making this video. It is a treat to see such precision craftsmanship. And of course the finished product is gorgeous. The size is curious to me. Can you share why you chose it.

Very cool video....would absolutely love a "nail-less" bench, made with a Japanese flair to it. But, it kinda puts it out of reach when big expensive CNC machines are used. Not saying it's wrong...just saying I can't afford one.
