Xot Makes: How to make an advanced boffer sword

  • In the previous video, Xot showed us his way of making a basic boffer sword. In this video he expands on that, and makes a great sword.
My friend Xot owned the building my first set was in, and he helped me get my RUclips channel started. He wanted to make his own series of videos about how to properly make and use boffer swords. Xot passed away a year ago, November 1st 2018. Here is the second of two videos about boffers that we got a chance to film.
Thank you Xot for being such a dynamic incredible person.

It seems like you and Xot had a friendship that some would call a brotherhood and I'm so sorry you lost such a dear friend of yours 💔
Xot has a bright personality and funny wit about him, he is very charismatic and I'm glad that even though we never got the chance to experience Xot to the fullest, what you have shared with us shows us that he was talented and just as likeable and charming as you Odin.
I hope Xot is resting easily now 💙

As a person who doesn’t cosplay or LARP, or even go to cons, I find all of your videos extremely engaging and interesting. I appreciate the content you put out, as it does reflect my secondary nerd hobbies (mostly movies and shows).
I think I can speak for everyone saying that it’s heartbreaking seeing you talk about your friend Xot after his passing. Losing someone you care about is difficult, but just so know you have a support family (nearing the 500k mark) who will always have your back. Thank you Odin for posting this set of two videos. Xot was my best friend and his passing hurt very much. It has taken a couple of months to build up the courage to view these. We first started building boffers in the early 90’s. The technique was very different. Much more duct tape. Even back then he always stressed safety. To hear his voice and to see his humor, warmth, wit and good nature once again is a gift. It brings great memories and healing. Thank you Odin for this gift.

I can't say I knew Xot, never met the guy, but it's clear from the sincerity you speak with, Xot was a good man. He gave you a place to create, and more so, was inspired by your creation and wanted to create too. That's all we want, as people who make. We just want to inspire and have a friend to come along for the ride, to share the desire in our hearts to create. Xot would be thrilled to have such a large audience.
I was afraid to work on these earlier, but I am really happy I got them done now.
      Thank you very much Connor.

I'm so sorry for your loss Odin! Xot seemed like a genuinely nice guy, just as you are. Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of Xot's legacy of boffer weapons. Maybe continue the series for him, if you know what else he would have completed. Also "they're your audience, they'll understand!" Yes we do. Again sorry for your loss

Xot seems like he was a sweet, genuine, simple guy in the best way possible. Honestly, I thought he was your older brother or something when I first saw him in the thumbnails. I'm glad you were able to recover some of your memories with him, and I know I'll definitely use his expertise to make a boffer of my own some time.
