    The beautiful thing about lotus field is how complex of a deck it really is, which leads to great moments like this one here: as a Lotus Field player, I disagree with most of the things mentioned in this video, but that doesn't certainly mean that Losset is wrong.
    There are several points I disagree with, such as playing Vizier, which in my opinion isn't good enough, the double Dark petition instead of Mastermind's Acquisition, but what I really would like to debate is something else: Arboreal Grazer
    Again, this is just my opinion, but AG is a contender for the best card in the deck, and here is why: Playing Lotus Field is about gaining/reducing the time you need to stay alive in order to be able to combo off, and having one additional land drop in turns 1 or 2 is amazing since it allows you to combo one turn earlier (since Lotus field needs one turn to untap, having an additional land drop on the turn you'd naturally play Lotus field doesn't gain you much since you are going to have to wait for it to untap next turn in order for it to be copied with Thespian Stage). Grazer accomplishes both of the previously mentioned objectives by 1) giving you said additional land drop as soon as turn 1 and 2) Having a consistent blocker which will at least soak 3 damage.
    Also, another thing that I would like to discuss is how the targets for Ultimatum are wrong in the video. Omniscience + Behold should be a no-brainer, since are easily the two strongest cards in the deck, but having pour over the pages is suboptimal, and here's why: if those are your three choices, an experienced opponent will ALWAYS chose Behold to be shuffled back into your deck, since in the event they don't it 100% leads to the combo not bricking
    Omniscience + Behold: Search for Fae of Wishes, any tutor and whatever else you want, fetch Approach, play it, tutor it and play it again. LF wins
    Pour over the Pages + Behold: resolve Behold 1st so you don't have to discard the card drawn by Pour, search Hidden strings, Bala Ged Recovery and Omniscience, resolve Pour, 6 blue mana available (from lands untapped by pour), play hidden strings, netting 4 extra mana, play omniscience, fetch Beyond the beyond with Bala Ged Recovery, and then do the sequence in the previous example searching for Fae of Wishes, any tutor and whatever else you want, fetch Approach, play it, tutor it and play it again. LF wins
    therefore by giving the lotus player 3 draws and Omni, there's a possibility that the combo bricks, this is avoidable if we present a different selection of cards IF we have at least one extra blue mana (which is very easily achievable with this deck) when casting Ultimatum, by targeting Omniscience + Behold The Beyond + Dark Petition we acquire an unbrickable sequence:
    Omni + Behold: previously explained
    Omni + Dark petition: just tutor Behold the Beyond with Dark Petition and perform the same sequence from there
    Dark Petition + Behold the Beyond: Resolving BtB first, tutor Hidden Strings, Bala Ged Recovery and Omniscience, then, tutor another copy of Hidden Strings. with 3 black mana from Dark Petition and the additional floating blue mana previously mentioned, cast Hidden Strings twice, netting you 11 blue mana and 1 black mana (each one adds 6 mana, costing 2, so +4 mana per Hidden strings), play omniscience, fetch Beyond the beyond with Bala Ged Recovery, and then do the sequence in the previous example searching for Fae of Wishes, any tutor and whatever else you want, fetch Approach, play it, tutor it and play it again. LF wins
    I hope my sequence explanation help any newcomers to the deck and sparks some discussion about the deck. Great video!

      solid explanation, as a lotus combo player I disagree with your point disagreeing with playing vizier instead of cycling it.

    • @CallMeFako
      @CallMeFako Год назад

      @@Metanecro Sorry, I might have explained my point in a way that was easy to misunderstand: what I meant is that I don't think playing Vizier (as in, having him in your deck) is good enough because Vizier alone doesn't help you get your combo one turn earlier unless you have several copies in hand.

    • @Metanecro
      @Metanecro Год назад +2

      @@CallMeFako It is not intended to help combo off, it helps to find your pieces. By the same logic impulse should be removed since impulse alone doesn't help you get your combo off at all even with several extra copies in hand.

    Lotus field combo is amazing for who plays it and outright irritating to who plays against it, the mana becomes so overwhelming you have to screw up a combo to not win with approach. Played against two people with lotus field combo decks in a local tournament and was so annoyed by them 😂

    Hi,
    thanks for the presentation, it was very interresting.
    Why there is a Behold the Multiverse in sideboard ?
    In which case do we want to tutor it or include it in main post sideboard ?
    Thanks !

      I’m late to this, but it’s for the control or midrange matchups with hand attack, also the foretell lines up well with sacing 2 lands to lotus field.

    what is the win con? how do they win? they just draw a lot of card and play a lot of card but deal no dmg or mill no cards.
    EDIT: i figured it out. You use Fae of wish to go get a win condition in your sideboard
