I used Drive, Universal Soldier Day of Reckoning, Safe, live action commercials for Hotline Miami, Faster, John Dies at the End, Bullet to the Head, Sinister, Drive Angry, and A Good Day to Die Hard.
It's in the description actually! It's called '1986' by the band Kavinsky. If you like this song you should look up the album of the same name. These guys specialize in 80s synth :)
I also used the live action trailer for Hotline Miami, Machete, Faster, John Dies at the End, a commercial for a haunted house in Texas (the rabbit), Universal Soldier Day of Reckoning, Bullet to the Head, Jack Reacher, Safe, Drive Angry, Die Hard 4, and The Departed :)
A decent trailer, but I think your editing was just a little bit too fast. Needs to have just a bit of dreaminess to it. As a trailer it's convincing though
Thanks! :) I'm actually right now trying to work to make a real movie so I hope soon to have enough footage to edit properly XD But you're right. I think an ideal Hotline film would seem very dreamlike and strange as it was brutal.
Hollywood-produced video game movies focus on a Michael Bay-lish style of narrative, opting for a totally different storyline that has nothing to do with the game it was based on most of the time. For example, the Resident Evil movie saga. Hence, this trailer looks "Hollywood-esque". What HeZma pointed is that this trailer doesn't look like Hotline Miami. In response, I pointed that this looks like a Hollywood blockbuster version of Hotline Miami. It was just a matter of perspective. Happy now?
god I would love to see a Hotline Miami movie, even if it's two hours of Jacket murdering people with no real plot. I even wrote a manuscript for the first few scenes for fun XD
I'm considering doing a live action trailer for a movie. Like a short. I just need to get the cosplays together. You have no idea how difficult it is getting that jacket :P
Hotline's plot and esthetic are pretty much a mash up of Drive, Hobo w/ a Shotgun and Old Boy. So in that sense the movies already been made. It would be pretty cool to get more 80's revival movies like Hobo and Drive though. Maybe even a GTA Vice City movie.
well... the question remains: why would you explain this to "HeZma", who not only nailed the obvious flaws, but seems generally ahead of you? p.s.: not an assumption but a description.
nice. though personally, i would have sneaked in some clips from ghost dog and the first episode of nikita (b/c of the masks). but all in all that trailer was epic!
The trailer itself looks nice, but I don't think it conveyed the full point of Hotline Miami. I think Jacket is trying to find out who is making the calls and put an end to them. The police don't quite get involved until the last quarter of the game. The game seems to only center around Jacket and the Russians, this trailer seems to add at least five other characters into this (or they're the Russian bosses, I couldn't tell). Other than that, the trailer looked awesome. Great job.
This is the best non-Drive use of Drive footage I've ever seen
Matt Lee Drive???
I used Drive, Universal Soldier Day of Reckoning, Safe, live action commercials for Hotline Miami, Faster, John Dies at the End, Bullet to the Head, Sinister, Drive Angry, and A Good Day to Die Hard.
@Bloodrunsclear Can You Try To Do The Stanley Parable Trailer?
@BloodRunsClear Can You Try To
Do Stanley Parable?
Hey BRC, Can you please try A Trailer Of Stanley Parable?
@BloodRunsClear Can You Try To
Do The Stanley Parable Movie Trailer?
BloodRunsClear Can You Try To Do City Of Heroes?
Damn, that was a nice use of stuff from the hotline miami trailer, drive and various other sources. It was actually pretty believeable.
I would actually watch this if it were real.
It's in the description actually!

One of the most convincing fan trailers I have ever had the pleasure of watching! :)
This would be a truly intense film
This could only be successfully directed by Quentin Tarantino.
Hell no, a true Hotline Miami movie should be directed by David Lynch.
A collaboration between Quentin Tarantino and David Lynch
Take my money O_o
Yes.
I don't think he can pull of the whole neo-noir look
A decent trailer, but I think your editing was just a little bit too fast. Needs to have just a bit of dreaminess to it.
As a trailer it's convincing though
Thanks! :)

But you're right. I think an ideal Hotline film would seem very dreamlike and strange as it was brutal.
+bloodrunsclear Absolutely my man. Hey, I'm gonna start working on something similar soon, full trailer for a potential HM short film.

Jesus fuck this needs to happen. nice editing though, it made it seem hella real (even if it sadly isn't)
god I would love to see a Hotline Miami movie, even if it's two hours of Jacket murdering people with no real plot. I even wrote a manuscript for the first few scenes for fun XD

God you need to do another one of these for Hotline Miami 2; Wrong Number.
That's from a TV commercial for a Texas haunted house XD
I'm glad you enjoy these! Thanks for watching :D
Great trailer! even through i dont think that a movie would capture all of hotline miami, still a pretty good job:D
It's actually the logo for a film company XD
I really really hope someone sees this and it inspires them to make a Hotline Miami movie. Very nice.
Sure deal! I was glad you enjoyed the video :)
0:52 From?
0:51-0:52 From?
hey i have a question that is been bugging me, what if James Earl Cah fights Jacket/Richard? who will win?
is it possible to get a list of the movies you used in this trailer??

Great work, amazing editing. Good job sir.
Hey BloodRunsClear Whats Next
Video?
Hey @BloodRunsClear What's Next?
@Bloodrunsclear What's Next?
@BloodRunsClear What's Next?
That felt like a 90's trailer :D
It would also be cool if it contained music from the game
@BloodRunsClear Did You Ever Played Hotline Miami Or Do You Do
Some Research About That?
BloodRunsclear Do You Play Hotline Miami Ever Or Do You Do Some Research?
Rabbit mask on 0:22 - What movie is it?
nice , name of the song please :)
Why are people hating on this I think this is good I mean I'd like to see you do a good fan made trailer
Well... take it as the Hollywood-esque version of Hotline Miami.
Mann is good too, actually. But I can't remember pure gore in his movies.
Yeah, and Hotline Miami was inspired by Drive and the dev thanked Refn in the credits. I can't think of a more appropriate choice.
what's the song at 0:25
again ;c
@BloodRunsclear Did You Know About Anime Or Manga Ever? Also
Did You Some Research About That?
@BloodRunsclear Did You Know
Manga/Anime Also Did You Do Research About Manga Or Anime?
what movies did you use?
well... the question remains: why would you explain this to "HeZma", who not only nailed the obvious flaws, but seems generally ahead of you?

nice. though personally, i would have sneaked in some clips from ghost dog and the first episode of nikita (b/c of the masks). but all in all that trailer was epic!
1:03 Great use phone beep end of the trailer
Refn is the best choice, 'cause Tarantino uses a plenty of talks in his movies, and Hotline Miami is not about talks, it's about action. :)
Please make this into a legitimate film people will support on kickstarter please
If only "Your Next" was released when you were making this video you could have used tons of stuff from that movie. : ) Great vid though.
Wow this is really well made, a Hotline Miami film made by Quentin Tarantino, Michael Mann or Nicolas Refn I think would be pretty sweet.
Hey Bro Scott Derickson Should Direct A Hotline Miami Film😊
what movie? 0:49
If done right, both visually and story wise. A Hotline Miami movie could be amazing.
take all the HM trailers, take the obvious DRIVE influence, take some uninspired movie clips, then make a FAKE trailer... bravo. EXTREMELY creative...
Nicely done video, but it just doesn't "feel" like a Hotline Miami. The game has more twisted atmosphere. The live-action game trailers had this.
Check the description :)
The trailer itself looks nice, but I don't think it conveyed the full point of Hotline Miami. I think Jacket is trying to find out who is making the calls and put an end to them. I really want to see a hotline Miami movie
How much do I have to pay to make this a reality?
Quentin Tarantino is my favorite director.
oh oh oh, make a trailer for a movie based on The SCP foundation
You Could Create A Watch Dogs or Maybe Rogue Warrior
You should send him a fan letter and ask!
By the by, I like your ava :)
Nice job. Get John Carpenter to do this, Tarantino is child's play in comparison.
either Refn or David Lynch
The game isn't, but the movie is :)
that trailer is real?
This guy, you mean.
I made a Secret World one :)
has to be directed by Quentin Tarantino!
lol coming in november ..... just great. rlly well done..... evan better (but not as funny) as the fake scar wars trailer ;)
its not fake
Not only me think thats is same projects)))(drive and hotline maimi)

Amazing!

This would make a perfect movie!
