honestly the big problem with this film is the fact that the combat isn't very fast or too exciting, if they just made him fighting a more intense experience it would have made the film more faithful to the actual game and more fun to watch
I think you guys did a great job capturing the vibe of the game, excellent camerawork + editing! The fighting was actually spot-on for a HM film, I winced a couple of times, just like I did when playing the game. Look forward to whatever you guys do next!
That was actually really great! I wish I could do work as good as that. One thing I should mention though, Is you should put a little bit more 'Oompf' into your hits. With video types like this, you really need those hits to send chills down the viewers spine. One thing I really liked was when he was stabbing the guy on the ground. The way you focused out as it was happening really made me shudder, It was a really good scene. Overall, It was really good!
Hi comrades I have to point out 3 things in this video. 1 jacket has his car 2.jacket didn't vomit because he killed a pile of Russians a while ago (because he already has experience from the war) vomited because he killed a homeless man (who he didn't kill here in the video) 3rd order of masks in nightmares are: horse, rooster, owl . But any way gj :)
Was pretty damn cool, the bad guys probably should have worn the white suits though, there are a couple discrepancies with the outfit and when he stabbed the guy on the ground, the knife didn't have any blood on it. Other than that, pretty nice.
Compared to the other Hotline short films out there I have to say this is one of the best. Now i say that lightly only because the action was very slow in this. The combat was realistic enough to still look like stuff from the game. The setting was interesting (but dark). In case you are thinking of improving on this and attempting another Hotline video... (which i do recommend, with some constructive criticism you could definitely make something great!)...I suggest faster action and a better costume for jacket. He has a Brown Letterman with Tan sleeves and paint the Rooster mask you have Black at the Eyes, Blue at the tips of the eyes, and paint whatever is YELLOW around the beak to RED. I did a Jacket cosplay and thats what i did.
Its very well shot, but hotline miami in general is very quick and brutal. Drawn out gunfights and hand to hand combat aren't really what HM is. I would've cut it a bit more, so you get very precise and brutal looking quick slams from the bat/etc. I'm just a film student though : p

Jacket doesn't wear gloves. Knife kills if you knock them down are one hit not multlple. Jacket would be dead if this was the game. If he is a mobster he should now how to use a gun use both hands. Should of used tv static instead of a stupid camera flash. Pretty dumb film to me.
