They are perfectly fine suspension and brakes as its a street car not a race car. If you experience brake fade in ANY street car driving properly, you don't know how to drive specially if its a manual.
@@tbas8741 well you can clearly see that owner have some mods installed such as bigger brakes (but i guess the pads are just bad), blitz suspension and chassis stiffness mods. so it should perform way better when tuned right for the track. tho it seems like its a basic street drift build anyways. also this car is still a heavy boat which need even bigger brakes and more suspension mods to be efficient on track
Man this video brings up so much emotion for me. In my 20's, I owned an SC300 manual and slowly pieced together coilovers, wheels and some aero upgrades before finally saving up for a turbo kit (used) for the 2JZ-GE. This took years, I don't even remember how I was able to save up for that turbo kit because I absolutely could not afford anything on that car in reality. Shortly after installing theTein coilovers and taking the car out for the first time after being away for three months an uninsured driver totaled it. Never got to finish the build. I loved that car, maybe I'll get one again in the future.
Great to see a JZZ30 on the Ring. I've got a 6 speed 1JZ vvti Soarer, with the Supra getrag behind it and 550whp. I'd love to take it on the Ring, but it's a loong way from Australia.
Digital gauge clusters were pretty huge in the 80s and early 90s. Took Japan in its clutches real hard, so much so even the highest trim level AE86 came with one lol
The 1JZ will always be, for me, the most expressive engine, one that can be easily tuned while maintaining reliability. I have a Chaser that I'm preparing like it, which I've been waiting for 8 years. My dream is finally coming true, and this video is perfect to give me a taste of what's to come
@@NewHandle_ absolutely no regrets, in my eyes it is the best engine I have ever had and yet I have had very nice engines, LS1/2/3, 2JZGTE, M156, B58,... the 1JZ remains the angriest, delicate to the ear, reliable and which thrills me with each acceleration and yet it is still stock, soon 500+
jzx life i got a 110 mark2 and love it. Cant beat the vvti 1j stock turbo and manifold sound. Theres something special about the stock manifold that gives it a certain rumble. When going top mount they sorta loose that special sound but still sound amazing. Im currently rebuilding the rear end the diff bushings are gone and im going with a frs diff. My sister dropped a friggin table on the hood the other day and now i gotta deal with that lol.
besides the brakes seems like the real biggest limiting factor was the R154 gearbox. I blew up my R154 in my soarer and can say having upgraded to a Grannas T56 has transformed everything and made it feel like I can trust the car more in almost all areas. With the close ratio set up the car even feels much faster. Also recommend if not already done doing a baffled oil sump for something like this. Number 1 killer of 1jz's is oil starvation it seems in my experience
is the r154 such a bit*h to shift? i mean you see misha sometimes banging gears like nothing (mostly in hondas) and sometimes granny shifting like he did here.
@@99Lezard99 its not hard, but if your aggressive with 2-3 shift 3rd gear will just eat itself. my whole transmission eat itself doing a tame 3-4 pull on max 400hp
That is exactly the type of car i would so much LOVE to see build into a Track tool. no one does it, its super unusual, its got loads of power potential being a JZ car, its rwd, its got a good suspension design but its quite heavy. not heavier then something like an e92 tho. Would prefer a jzx100 mark 2 but just in general a jz car as a track tool. NOT a drift car
had a 1jz manual soarer id say this is about 300 at the wheels, mine made 300 and definitely gained speed a bit faster! but was on stock twins (non vvti model), full spool by 2700 so pulled from much lower too but around 300 wheel sounds right, probably would make 400+ on high boost i reckon, few PSI on that tursbkie would be a lot. I have such a soft spot for these, probably the best cruiser/daily/track car/drift car ive had, often used to do a 900km round trip in it and was the most comfortable car for long drives (with stock seats), thats still spicy and way less boaty than most people think

Hoping he comes back one day on high boost and some better coil overs/brtakes, everything is there for at least 400hp + safely its surely a ripper!

What are you on about 610 miles? Central london to nordshleife entrance is only 350miles of driving. Easy on 1 tank and still have fuel for a few laps.
I watched this right after the RCZ R one and it's particularly interesting to see how a car with like 100 less hp carried about 30km/h more in the corner before the long straight at 4:43, really puts things into perspective
The best modifications i did to my soarer v8 was install tein super street adjustable coilovers and upgraded the diff to a torsen differential found in the aws (all wheel steer)active suspension versions unbelievably reliable car if looked after

The Supra was the sports car, the Soarer was the luxury tourer. The brakes are smaller and often get replaced with Mercedes S-Class brakes as an upgrade. They also have very soft, boaty/floaty suspension from factory and are quite difficult to turn.
Be interesting to see when he tunes it a bit better. 20mm more ride height, stiffer shock valving, a decent set of brakes. I think the turbine housing is a bit on the big side (I reckon it must be close to 1.00, where 0.85 would be much better), and it needs more aggressive boost ramp from 4500rpm. Oh, and a new clutch and a rebuilt trans will be on the menu as well. Did you buy parts from GOLEBYS' or did you import the whole car from Australia?
Is it stock front caliper? Disc seems aftermarket already. Would be interesting to see what brake can be improvement for this heavyweight cruiser. Love it being manual & L6 Turbo.
The only thing I don't like is when people come to the Nurburgring without doing a proper suspension setup for the track. Then you can't really send the car because it's rubbing.
