The time has finally come! We finally begin manual swapping my 1991 Toyota Soarer! Not with just any old transmission though, a BRAND NEW R154! So excited for this, hope you are too and stay tuned for the final outcome!

Hey Mike, I used the same transmission mount (from drift motion) for my JZX90 and it drove pretty rough(loud and vibration) I put a strip of rubber on the spacing blocks and it definitely did wonders for noise and vibration.

I really appreciate the fact that you buy an automatic and swap in a manual later. Think you did this with your RuinedSol, civic and now this one.
I myself just got a great little car, automatic of course and it’s annoying how often people want give their two cents about why they wouldn’t of bought an automatic and just found a manual.

As said by others. Trick the neutral switch.
Plus make sure you leave clearance on that gear stick entry so it doesn't vibrate against the tunnel as it moves about.
Plus there is another pressed hole in the firewall down and to the right of the clutch hole you can drill for all your boost and other cables. I had to relocate all mine too.

Car isn't going to start unless you've bridged the neutral safety switch, park has a stronger signal than neutral in these cars and they don't have a rev limit in park so you won't have any problems.

Don't forget to put on the tailshaft dust shield on the back of the r154. Brand new ones didn't come with it.

Hey Mike, don't forget to jump your neutral safety switch or it won't start. Probably in the same harness you pulled the reverse light switch wiring out of. I had no idea you could still buy brand new R154s from Toyota, that is pretty rad. May look into that when it comes time to do the 1UZ swap in my pickup.

thats ok it took me 6 years and 2 days to manual swap my E30 haha. Jan 30th 2015-Feb 1st 2021 its never too late. also its fricking awesome now cuz i can keep it on the boost LOL

Hey man I'm thinking of doing a manual swap on my sc300 which is similar. What ecu did you end up going with? Im assuming you had to switch ecu's going from auto to manual?
Are the old designs gonna be purchasable with the new manufacturer?
Out of the Supra the LS400 and the Soarer , i think the Soarer is the best looking . Sporty and elegant at the same time .
