  • Cleveland Launcher HB irons vs Cleveland CBX Irons Review by PuttsAround! See how the Launcher HB and the CBX stack up in the head to head match.
The Cleveland CBX irons has a classic game-improvement look - medium thick topline, thicker sole, and moderate offset. The irons come equipped with laser milled ZIP grooves, v-sole, Cup Face, and feel balanced technologies.
The Cleveland Launcher HB irons has a "post-modern" look. The Hi-Bore crown reduces the the weight and places it low and back for better launch and trajectory. The flex fin technology allows more energy to be transferred to the ball, increasing distance. The high strength steel face insert gives the club large sweet spot and faster ball speeds.
See David's honest review of the Cleveland Launcher HB irons vs the Cleveland CBX irons, supported by real ball data.

Just love my HB Irons. They are excellent clubs. At least 1 club longer than my previous irons and feel a lot more consistent. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Thanks for the video. I never considered Cleveland clubs until I bought a HB Turbo Launcher Driver. So easy to use. Since then I tried a HBTurbo iron and how easy to hit it well! I would consider a blended set of these maybe in the 4,5 iron range , then 6- GW with my preferred irons, then CBX2 wedges.
For an old guy like me, new to golf my set would look like this: Driver HB Turbo 12 degree, Cobra F9 5 wood, Cobra F9 19 single lenfth hybrid, ( insert 4&5 hybrid- iron ) 6-GW single length irons ( SL-7 Milford Golf with graphite shafts) , then CBX2 wedge 54/12, and Milford SL-7 60 LW / 04 bounce for tight lies.
Can you test the Wilson Staff Launch Pad in the long irons compared to the Cleveland please. I think most of we older guys struggle to get long irons to work, so anything that helps is great.

Hi guys. I am a senior 12 H'Cap - Cairns Australia. Loved David's on course review so went out and I purchased the HB irons with senior shaft a couple of weeks ago - I also purchased HB Launcher Driver and Hybrid and 2 additional CBX wedges (50 and 58) for greater feel around the green. My home course is Paradise Palms Cairns - a championship course and very demanding. I have read all your comments so take it from someone who is actually using these clubs. These are a game changer - really great clubs and awesome value for money especially if you want to launch the ball high enjoy your game again and dare I say reduce your Handicap!

David as promised tried the Cleveland CBX irons and HB Launcher along with the hybrid and fairway wood and CBX wedges, wow wow game changer I was 15-20 yards longer better dispersion 10 mph up on clubhead speed. I've tried most cavity backs and the HB Launcher are unique no competitor can match them, I understand in the U.S. this is their best selling iron no surprise.
Many thanks the search is over!

Purchased the CBX irons (6-DW) and couldn't be happier. Had them bent to my specs (2* up / 1* strong) to match my previous set of PING G's (Power Spec). The V Sole works better thru the turf. Love the Miyazaki shaft also. I play to a 9 right now and would recommend giving these a try if you're in the market for new irons.

Looked at Cleveland HB, Wilson Launch Pad and Tour Edge Ironwoods, bought the Tour Edge. All hit great but I like the lofts on the Tour edge best.

This is such a good review and a great comparison chart. Is this guy still on RUclips? Looks like it’s been a few years since he posted. Would love to see an updated video on the newer Turbo and UHX irons

Your video was awesome and interested me in the HB’s. I now run a mixed bag - HB 6 and 7 with CBX 8 9 PW. Wedges all Cleveland and mostly CBX.

Good review! I just ordered 5 and 6 with the Launcher HB because I need help in that range. One note for your future vids from 9:30 : weary means tired. Wary and leery. Either one of those words is the one you want there.

Wow David you hit those Launcher HB irons really well, it’s not something I could buy myself, but I’m impressed by them, the spin is amazin, great to see the comparison. What is the longest club they make in the Launcher? Do you think it could rival the U65, with that amount of spin, could be a good club for long par 3s, cheers and keep up the good work.

I keep noticing good golfers can’t hit the HB irons straight and high. They target higher handicap but I’m concerned these really good golfers can’t seem to hit one straight. If anyone doubts this go watch all the reviews on this version of HB or the newer version out this year. I wish I could see a high handicapper hit these irons. I wish I could hit a 6 iron 229 yards!

Hi David never tried Cleveland clubs other than the wedges. I see that their putters have good reviews any chance of some putter reviews of different manufacturers next spring?

I use hybrids. But my highest lofted hybrid is a number 7 at 31 degrees. So,,,,, I ordered a 8 and 9 in the H.B. turbro Launchers so I would have 34.5 degrees and 39 degrees to fill the gaps. Spider Dubiel

How would the HBs compare to the Adams New Idea Tech? Probably a cheaper alternative if they preform similar...

Hi, Have you tried single length irons? Imagine single length hb irons. I think this could be ultimative iron.

Hey David. Loving the channel. Not looking for clubs but love your reviews. I swing Tom Wishons Sterling Single Length Irons. Feel good off the face, 8 Iron Length, and the gapping is perfect. Give the shout, love to see you review them. Keep up the good stuff.
