This summer in the Twin Cities, Metro Transit added environmentally-friendly electric buses to its fleet. These 60-foot articulated buses began providing Bus Rapid Transit Service on the C Line in June.
The C Line serves Penn Avenue from the Brooklyn Center Transit Center to Downtown Minneapolis. In addition to the reduced environmental impact of electric buses, the C Line provides faster service and additional amenities. Those amenities include off-board fare payment, security cameras, enhanced lighting, push-button heating, and more.
Metro Transit plans to continue introducing electric buses following their debut on the C Line. Funding for these buses is provided in part by our state tax dollars.
