  • Metro Transit has reduced service by 30% since the pandemic began, and though some of that is driven by demand, the lack of drivers is holding everything back.

My uncle is a MTC driver and the story he tells are insane. It's not the driving, it's dealing with low lifes and douchebags that will make you walk off the job.

I drive for a local public transit district in another part of the US, and I can confirm that driving the bus is the easiest part of the job. It's the lowlifes and douchbags that most people are not prepared to deal with. If transit districts would start punishing the bad people, it would give us so much more dignity.

As a professional bus operator, I have to agree. I even drove school buses and it's pretty much the same, except when dealing with unruly kids and entitled parents who often take their kid's side over the drivers when it comes to their own misconduct. Not all parents are like that though.

I wouldn't mind driving a big bus but not in Minneapolis. Heck, I'll ride my fat bike all year round rather then travel by bus. Maybe if the city concentrated on cutting crime, more people would step forward.

50k to risk your life daily? Too dangerous to drive a certain demographic around.

I hope your son Grant doesn’t turn out to be a racist like you and hopefully you change your ways of these wicked generalizations.
