  • Come along for a full historical walking tour of Corriganville Park in Simi Valley. The park was cnce the site of one of Hollywood's busiest movie ranches. In addition to the more than 3,500 films, television shows, and commercials filmed at Corriganville, the ranch was also once home to a western theme park, that in it heyday, welcomed more guests than Knott's Berry Farm!
In 1942 Ray "Crash" Corrigan purchased land that is now known as Corriganville and set about turning this idyllic area into a movie making paradise.
Corriganville was lined with western-style structures, a fort, railroad and an English Tutor house which were used as movie sets. Movies that where filmed here include Fort Apache, starring John Wayne; Jungle Jim, starring Johnny Weissmuller and the Three Musketeers, starring Lana Turner and Gene Kelly. TV shows included the Adventures of Rin Tin Tin, Bonanza, Cisco Kid and The Lone Ranger.
In the summer of 1949, Corriganville was opened to the public on weekends and holidays as an amusement park were stunts where performed, Wild West shows featured in the arena and people could meet real cowboys. In 1970 and again in 1979 fires destroyed virtually all of the structures and the new owners shutted the entire area closed.
In May 1998, Corriganville once again opened to the general public when Rancho Simi Recreation & Park District assumed ownership. Today you will find hiking trails, the remains of the historical movie sets, some with signs, parking stalls, covered and uncovered picnic tables.
Numerous trails provide visitors a wide range of options, including relaxing interpretive trails, picnic areas, strenuous hiking, and historical markers.
    Location:
7001 Smith Rd, Simi Valley, CA 93063
Corriganville is open from dawn to dusk every day.
The general car park is accessed from the end of Smith Road.

You did a great job with this video. I took my son there today. The last time I was there was in 1963 and it was the coolest thing you could ever take a kid to. My dad took us into the saloon and he had a beer (or two) and we had root beers. Then you would hear gunshots and a bank robbery would be taking place with the cowboys falling off of horses and the off the tops of buildings. Would have been cool if they had left up the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood set or even just put a marker where it was filmed. Great job Funnel Cakers!!

I was just visiting there as I reside only fifteen minutes from this site. My late Auntie Gloria was a film/tv actress and appeared in quite a number of westerns, some of them filmed @ this location and also nearby Iverson. Several of those points seen in her performances included "Silvertown", "Robin Hood Lake" and Corrigan's actual residence.

This is such a crazy coincidence. I live in Simi Valley. I am a new viewer of your channel I had no idea you were from Simi Valley. I have lived here about 20 years and I had no idea that Corriganville existed. I went to a birthday party for Marilyn Monroe and I met the nicest lady. She was an actress named Elaine DuPont. When I told her where I was from she said that her husband owned and ran Corriganville. I was shocked. I found your channel by searching for the LA County fair and then looked at the rest of your videos and saw Corriganville and was so surprised that you were from Simi and that you have visited this location recently. I was so excited to meet Elaine and I hope to see her again in August for the Marilyn memorial. Such a crazy coincidence that I ran across your videos looking for a completely different subject but then found your video hear about Corriganville when I just met Elaine yesterday. Crazy!

As a former advocate for studio preservation, I'm aware that at one-time in the mid 90's, if memory serves, the local city government had entertained the idea of rebuilding SilverTown and creating a "Corriganville" visitor experience which would also be made available for Movie and Television production generating taxable income to the local government. I'm afraid when it was put to a vote, the local citizens didn't care for the idea, sadly.
