I don't care what position in the draft the Hawks are in. That has absolutely no bearing on how poor a fit Trae is for the Lakers. He solves none of our weaknesses, while destroying our team depth. It's just a negative in the aggregate. Hard pass.

Agree, FO hopefully learned from the Westbrook/Suns experiment. This 3rd star hype is simply that. They just have to address their needs = a bruising big & more perimeter D with both length & some offensive capability (hopefully on younger side). Unfortunately, Darvin had one such player sitting on the bench all year who could have benefited with more playing time. AR has reached his ceiling & is better suited at this point to come off the bench...he can give some shooting punch while being more capable of guarding less elite/bench players....JMO.

Sure he’s a liability but if you get the right shoot guard next to him, then yea pull the trigger to get him. Can’t be DLO or reeves next to him tho. And who cares if he’s a defensive liability, so is just Jamal Murray and yet he’s still killing it. Stop thinking young is DLO he’s not, he’s a way more gifted offensive player.

I think the Lakers should try trading the 17th pick (and more picks/players) to get Mikal Bridges. Brooklyn has no 1st pick this season, and desperately needs to start getting draft picks for their rebuild after their KD/Kyrie/Harden failure.

No we need dejounte Murray and hopefully Lauri markenaan that would improve our overall offensive skill and we will have 2 elite defenders in vando and Ad and good defenders in Murray and Lauri and a good defender in bron cause age of course and fill out the bench with small trades get a backup big and keep taurean, gabe, reaves i think rui might get traded get like an Andre Drummond type big and of course keep max Christie

Heard conflicting rumors around the Spurs fandom that: (1) their FO really is not that interested in Trae Young and they’ll most likely pursue CP3 as the vet PG to mentor their future PG from this year’s draft; (2) other rumors I heard was that the deal was mostly done between the Spurs and Hawks, Spurs get Trae in exchange for the Hawks picks in 2025 that the Spurs currently have.
It’s gonna be an exciting off-season and draft night for sure. There’s also a high chance now that Trae stays in ATL now that they will get him some more help with that #1 draft pick. They will probably draft Alex Sarr. They’ll most likely trade Murray tho and Hawks will target the Spurs for trades because they want their picks back, I’m just not sure the Spurs are willing to give back the Hawks’ picks. Spurs will most likely have 5 picks in the 2025 draft class, and that’s the better draft class.
