The motion capture is gonna get better and better. The face expression on every characters in this game was on point. The dialogues was amazing
Gotta give credit to animators too. How many shows and movies do we watch and see maybe a fraction of the expressions emoted in this game? Very talented actors can display that. And we don't see many of those in real life. I'm gonna give props to the animation department. They made those shots sing.
It's from the same guys who did Shadow of the Tomb Raider which has amazing motion capture and cutscenes, so no wonder this one looks that good too :)
The only gripe I have is the lip synching with the voices
This game was really good apart from the countless glitches and soft locks I encounter but I completely agree with you on your point
Having just binged this game. God no. The facial animations are decent to sub par most of the time. Most of the time. This is 1 of the better examples of it in game though. I doubt many people will use it as the standard. Hell I just saw an article last week about how well Injustice 2s facial animations still are. Even brings up that lying detective game I cant remember the name of.
My god the lip synch is fucking horrendous. Which was VASTLY what most people saw. That doesnt help at all. I just played this game. So yeah after patches and what not it is very much notable.
But all of that can be ingored with the great dialogue. Sure as hell will ever praise the facial animations or hold it as the standard for all other games to match and surpass. I Love this game. But you are prasing it in areas where it has been beaten by so many others that it is a disservice to what it does hold above other games.
I love this games story and its characters.
Not enough to play more than say twice as its experience is in its story and how it folds out. It is my understanding that I got the best endding on my first playthrough. And playing through hours just to see how it changes doesn't seem appealing. Not like with other games.
Gameplay....ehhhh. Its fun enough. Not like playing again again for months or even years. Just not enough variety in its core gameplay loop. I do however believe it is a game worth playing through even if you dont care for the characters like how I didn't going in.
If anything you may benefit from not knowing much about them. Awesome game, facial animations range from moving lips to damn good,but are normally in the meh area for most of its run. Dialogue and character interactions are undoubtedly amoung the very best in all of gaming. Strong argument for the best even. Gameplay is fun enough but highly doubt anyone will come back for it unlike the actual characters and story. Worth playing

"Streaming mode enabled" there's the problem. This ending is not nearly as good as the one where you have "The Final Countdown" playing in the background.
Ending qte just isn't the same without "The Final Countdown" playing. 😆

Facts
This game is such a love letter to the late 00's GOTG comics, particularly the Guardians run from 2007 onwards like Annihilation.
They even had cameo from Jack Flag, Wraith, Moondragon and Quasar in the Nova files!
Especially since a lot of the stories here are pseudo-referencing like Drax killing Thanos like in Annihilation.
Sucks that Richard Ryder doesn't make an appearance despite plenty of namedrops, maybe holding him out for the sequel.

I mean, he‘s taking care of Nikki because she doesn’t have anyone. Peter is the only one, she has and I‘m proud of him, that he wants to raise her up even she’s not his real daughter.

It would be so cool to at least see either of them, it clearly has the ability to continue so I'm hoping for a continuation!

Thanks for posting, I was rushing through to finish before it was taken off of game pass on Xbox, I got to the Adam Worlock ending last night and had to put it down for the day and it was gone this morning.

This game is honestly close to if not on the same level as games like batman Arkham and Spider-Man, what a vast improvement over avengers
it's good but this is not on the level of the Arkham games or Spiderman lol

@@ventusvanitas7544 Hmm, nah the quill in comics is much stronger than that quill. This quill in the game is more of a respected leader and a man with good morals. The quill in comics is different from this cuz of the events that occured like having powers of the sun and using a gem to defeat thanos which is one of his most powerful form in the comics. But, yeah video game quill and comic quill may also have alot of similarities. btw idk if hes also a respected leader in the comics, but for mcu quill he's obviously not always respected. All these I said are just opinions(sorry i said too much, I was so hyped for the game haha)
Here’s how you make this better than it already is
Instead of Adam going into hiding like the ending implies to protect the Soul Stone, his philosophy instead is that the Soul Stone is in very capable hands with the Guardians and he sticks around full time and joins them (not to mention maybe they’ve grown on him a little XD)
Nikki’s origins and ancestry are a little more explored somewhere in the story. She still is an orphan raised on the Kree homeworld, but the other side of her family is immensely powerful. Cosmically powerful, even. We’ll get to that in a bit. First, her ancestry is actually discovered. She is the descended progeny of legendary Kree warrior Mar-Vell. Mar had a son, named Genis. He was captured, his DNA was cloned during the Galactic War and taken elsewhere. Have it somewhere in the story that like Star-Lord, she is a hybrid of two species, half-Kree from Genis, and half-Eternal from where Genis’s DNA was crossed with an Eternal, in an attempt to breed a super soldier. She discovers this near god-like power after being broken from her promise awoke her dormant cosmic power within her, and she decides to take her up her ancestral code-name given by both her father *and* grandfather (in this universe at least); Captain Marvel.
This is odd, I finished this game yesterday, and for me, The Final Countdown song started to play around 49:00 (which made the final battle scene even more awesome ). But here there is no music playing in the background

Honestly Guardians 3 has a tall order because this game was the perfect story for the Guardians with Adam Warlock also a nice way to introduce Nicholette Gold

Most of the game's charm relies on hours of conversations that they recorded, seriously, they have a looooot of dialogue even for just standing around.
If you skip all of that and not look for upgrades and collectibles, I'd wager the game isn't that long. My runtime on first playthrough is like 14 hours? 15?

The ending felt rushed idk, that walkway part was so awkward... but man am i gonna miss these characters. I liked them more than their mcu version especially drax.
I also loved Drax, he was my least favorite Guardian in the MCU because he feels just stupid and not deep but here he is badass, wise and not stupid but stubborn in a cool way
