The tagging process looks lengthier and more brutal than a normal C&R, so it may give skewed results for the study of C&R if tagging kills more sharks than C&R.
Out now, caught a tagged brown shark about 6 foot 100+ lbs last night at like midnight,My work mate's were slaying the yellow fins ..the tuna of the trip being a little over 200 lbs .trip of a life time. Thanks vfi and the Helena h
@@OnTheWaterMedia I'm not sure if the deck hands did .I did not know about the tagging system at the time of catch..I will follow up tho .also was the fishing trip of a life time.. can't wait till next year
Nice sharks 🦈 - very - very healthy. Question i have is what are they feeding on out there. I wonder this because i have never seen browns so big and because there are now quite alot of heavy young sharks along coast now - All types bringing white sharks much closer to shoreline than before.
I'm in Massachusetts and would love to give shark fishing a shot. I could take out my 20-ft Edgewater but just for fun I'd like to give it a shot from shore. My question is what are you looking for as far as a place to fish from shore? Are you looking for a rapid drop off to deeper water or some other indication that you might be in a spot that held fish. Is there a method to the madness of shore fishing for shark?
Worked on a lobster boat in high school - we would see brown sharks occasionally & it was always cool!
Saw a pair one time - like a bonus 🦈🦈
John's my cousin and a spectacular fisherman.Always a blast fishing with him.His knowledge of fishing on the Cape is unmatched,

Very cool - did you get the return information on the brown shark to see where it was tagged?

Do the tyraps stay on the fin after the tag falls off ?
Do bait stores down in the cape sell blue fish in June or did you guys catch them fresh?
We usually catch them ourselves as there is a decent amount off the south side beaches all summer. But yes a lot of bait stores do sell them as well.
How can I become a tagging biologist??
I live in there
Any chance you could tell me where this beach is I’m trying to get into fishing for browns but I can’t seem to find a good spot
The poor sharks :(

Very soft indeed. They swam off strong and are probably still out there today.
