My name is Matthew and I live in a van. I lost my job due to "cut backs" from the pandemic of 2020 and decided to seriously restructure my life. I am also a single dad who needed to find a solution that would allow me to remain in my daughter's life and plan for her future. After tons of research into #vanlife, I knew it was for me.
From March 2021 until October 2021 I spent my days building out my Chevrolet Express 2500, which came to be known as "Lucky" and as of October 18, 2021 I have been living in Lucky full time.
The build was done with almost no experience on my end and I used the one incredible tool I had at my disposal - the internet - to learn what I needed to build Lucky into a very comfortable tiny home.
I have always had a bit of a passion for being in front of the camera and really enjoy capturing the world around us. This really played into how I was feeling after almost a year of working from home when I "commuted" from the bedroom to the couch. I was starting to feel extremely unhealthy, unmotivated and despondent. I HATED that, and that's not a word I like to throw around. This new lifestyle gives me opportunities I just didn't have before and I am so excited to be able to share it all with you.
I truly believe we all have the capabilities to turn our lives around, should we choose to do so - and if I can inspire you to shoot for something better then I have done a decent job and that will keep me going.
There is more to life than the consume, consume, spend, spend lifestyle I feel we have all been conditioned to follow and I just want to do the best I can for myself first and foremost. Our time is limited and I do not want to waste another second on a lifestyle that doesn't bring me joy!

I've been waiting for that candle to be lit again! Being able to get to know you better has been great - and not just about past relationships but about your perspective now. When you said that you got a cat together, well it was only 1 sentence but it seemed to be an important one as far as commitment goes.

1:35 to answer that question- why do we stay when we know it’s not right.. for me- it was because I didn’t think I’d find anyone else.. I didn’t have the confidence I do today. And on some level, we really think if we do A/B/C for this person, that’ll surely make them see the light!!!!…. Umm.. no. And now that I’m 40.. omg, I wanna cry when I see 20 something’s, 30something’s, making the same mistakes I did.. but I think you learn something from every relationship that went sour.. and I appreciate that.

This couldn’t come at a better time as my son and his common law wife , 8 years together and as of yesterday they are calling it quits 😢 I’m so very sad she like a daughter in law to us , it’s comes as a complete surprise and going forward I hope we can keep our wonderful relationship with her .

Marrying my “second husband” TWICE… I should have given myself CRACKS (as we say in Hawaii)… Yeah I WAS one of those co-dependent “in love” women who believed the abuser would change. Thankfully, I got out with my life! Now, I “would” be super picky… but I’d rather be single at this point.

@@TheLeopardGirl I'm ok. The headaches don't make sense if there isn't a tumor, why does it still hurt? I had an appointment with cardiology and they want to do some tests on my heart. A four hour chemical test and an ultrasound of the heart. My blood pressure was a little high even though I take meds for it. She put me on a second blood pressure med. Now I am waiting on the first visit with an endocrinologist. The ozempic is starting to work so that's a positive. It's also helped keep my blood sugars in the target range as well as reduced the amount of insulin. Things are slowly moving along and it won't be until August before the cardiac tests are done. I am trying to make changes but it's so hard when everything hurts all the time. Thanks for your support. It has helped keep me motivated to make these changes. Thank you❤️❤️😃😃😃

Hello Matthew love watching the videos. May I Recommend frameless candles because candle smells and air freshener things of that sort cats are very sensitive to. Plus safer in such a small place we use them in our van and love them 💜

Relationships are not easy by any means, and require equal input from both parties involved. But also, when your partner in life can't do 100% sometimes, the other person needs to step up and help out a bit more and vice versa. Unfortunately for some of us, we learn that after it's to late and then we start with the woulda, coulda, shoulda phase. Thanks for sharing these parts of your life, most of us I'm sure can relate to a lot of what you are saying. Cheers.

My son is going through those same thoughts, that they will come back together, but they still live together and she's already dating someone else. It happened just after his 26th birthday, on the 5th of this month. They were together for 8 or 9 years, the same amount of time his dad and I were together before he died. His dad died 3 months after we split up at the same age my son is now. My heart hurts for my son right now. He bought her a horse, a truck, and everything she ever asked for.
Get him out of that horrible situ asap
I wish I could. He lives on the opposite side of the state and I can't tell him what to do anymore.
