Freshman advice from a Junior, take things slow don’t take your first two years of high school for granted. Don’t stress too hard yet. Build good relationships with teachers and don’t feel bad when it comes to cutting off toxic friendships lol… have an amazing first year and make great memories!!!

@@clarity150 honestly don’t even worry about it. My freshman year I swear I had the absolute worst luck. I had all the same classes as my friends but i didn’t have the classes with them so I was the only one left out. Before school started I felt so worried but it honestly wasn’t bad at all, I met new people and I still got to see my friends in the halls and at lunch. It’s all in your head I promise you it won’t be as bad as you think 🫶
As a college student, biggest advice is to look after yourself most of all. It is okay to put yourself first if you need to. What others say doesn’t matter. It is okay to just be yourself freely and you will learn more about yourself as time goes on. Enjoy all of the high school experience that you can, because when I was in high school, I only did half of what I should’ve done. Join something, be involved. It’s okay if you don’t the first semester but it will help you be successful altogether other than just the academic side of school life. Also don’t worry about fitting in because in the next few years people will change and it is okay if you change as well. But warning some people change in the bad aspect and always be careful of who you hang with. I wish you nothing the best, just have fun and be yourself. 💕

As a sophmore in college I can verify this message! Be true to you! Because at the end of the day it is only you who you are taking care of. Nurture the relationships you feel the best about. don't try and be friends with everyone because it will end badly and you do not want to be in drama. I only have one friend from high school I still talk to even though I was in a big group. Nurture important people.

freshman advice from someone who graduated high school: be yourself, find yourself a friend group (reliable friends), you’ll meet fake people don’t let them get to you, there will be so much drama so stay away from that, focus in your classes, take notes only on important info, stay organized, always try your best to attend class, make a good impression on your teachers it will pay off, join clubs, and enjoy these next four years. i hope u have a great first year of high school’
this is absolutely pathetic bahhaha but can i ask advice on how to make friends, and finding a friend group? I struggle with talking to new people, I don't have too much social skills and I'm scared that I won't have people to sit with during lunch since everyone is alr friends with each other and im new to a school

Something that really eased my anxiety about getting lost was when I realized EVERYONE gets lost the first week or two! Everyone has new classes so don't be embarrassed to ask for help! I'm a Junior but I'm starting at a new school so I totally feel you bestie but just be yourself and don't stress!
Advice from someone who graduated this year: don’t stress too much, do your work but give yourself a break when you need it! And go out! Have fun while you can, it’s seems 4 years is a lot but time really does fly. Hope you had a great first day🫶🏻

as a grade 11/junior, don’t be afraid to be yourself, try to persevere through peer pressure especially if your uncomfortable in any situation, keep your health a priority and don’t be afraid to ask for help from any of your teachers or counsellors,especially if you get stressed out easily.
freshmen advice from somebody who was just one last year- build good homework habits!!!! the most difficult thing for me was forcing myself to sit down and do homework (it still is tbh) so make sure you have productive habits with your work and manage your schedule/time responsibly.

Advice from a Junior, take it easy this first year; don’t try and rush it! Cause when I say high school goes by quick I mean it. What I wish I did was not try and please everyone, because when you try and please everyone you’re not being true to yourself. Also make sure to study and keep up with academics; many people say high schools easy and you don’t have to study. But studying is your key. I wish you a fantastic year :)!

I’m also a freshman starting sept 7. I’m so nervous and excited. When you said in 2 years u can drive my jaw dropped. I can already drive and I’ve been driving for months. (Learners permit)

advice from a college student, save your pocket money! birthday money or gifts or whatever, put half away for later and spend the other half on something nice for yourself. you’ll be very thankful when you’ve got a nice reserve fund to pay for moving cost/transition expenses once you graduate high school

I’m senior right now but I remember how horrible my freshmen year went.I got there super late and had no idea where I was going.I asked my older cousin but he didn’t even know either.A security guard screamed at me for being late.
But this year I decided to not care at all.Since the first day is just to know your classes and your teacher.I walked in with coffee and ate my snacks.

Yes!! A divide is to get a good sleep and have a healthy breakfast with protein so you aren’t as hungry throughout the rest of the morning. Maybe make a routine and follow it so you don’t miss any steps! Example: Wake up, shower, breakfast, brush teeth, wash face, makeup, hair, get dressed, pack lunch, pack bag, anything else, leave! In the morning I recommend flossing and brushing your teeth well, put on deodorant and perfume/cologne, style your hair, simple makeup if you want, and have a nice outfit! Don’t stress it, everyone will probably be too busy thinking about themselves and their schedules so don’t feel self conscious, you’re awesome so just be yourself!

pack your bag and prep food the night before, saves so much time in the morning fr, also join lots of clubs to make friends with upperclassmen!! they can help you get adjusted and give you advice on upcoming events like college admissions/plan after graduation, what teachers are the best, etc. making friends with a mix of ages helps you be more balanced and not as narrowminded

Just be yourself and don’t give into peer pressure. As nice as it is to do things others are doing, don’t feel obligated to do them. Statuses don’t matter and the “cool kids” hype will eventually die down. Just talk to lots of people and do things you enjoy.
