Found Free Echelon Connect in Need of Repair

I found a echelon connect broken. My neighbor put it out on trash day. I picked it up and brought it over to my garage to examine. I was going to just scrap it if I couldn't repair it. It turns out the pedal shaft was broken. I welded it and it works just fine now.

What do you call the special tool that you had to buy to get peddle off . I need to get the plastics off and i can't until I take the peddle arm off
