I saw him last year in a small club...and Yngwie put on one of best shows I have ever seen. Stunning musicianship and showmanship combined. I understand he can be too much for some.
and just think, each pick is dunlop nylon 1.5mm So each time he chucks one, thats like 65 cents to a dollar each for us reg folk depending where you live
Yep. If you play guitar, you just need the first 4 minutes of this video to realize that you do...indeed...suck. Protect this man at all costs. I can't listen to him for extended periods of time, but every time I do, I am always amazed. A true guitar legend.
Malmsteen will never get the credit he deserves for his songwriting. People always just think of his solo playing and how that impacted the world and not his insane library of absolute CLASSIC songs!
Nah I'm here from playing guitar 20 years but Rick did a great job. Yngwie is rarely that open and friendly. But I have met him in person after a show and in my short interaction he was humble, friendly and funny. He'd played a show in Asia and everyone sat down and nodded politely to the beat while me and a pal were drunk up front headbanging and yelling the song names etc... at the signing he said "hey it's you guys" and spent a minute or two chatting with us. I asked if I could have one of the Plexis but he said he needed all of them.
Amazing player, no doubt about it. That being said, every time I've seen him live (first time was 1983) I couldn't last more than 15 minutes. His playing bores me to tears.
Yngwie is one of the reasons I wanted to play guitar. He is also one of the reasons I sold my guitar. Then I bought again, sold, bought, sigh….I’ll just play some power chords and crank the distortion. Still amazing and a really cool guy via his own RUclips channel.
I love his playing on the records. He seems a little too focused on speed and showing off live. I love the perfect timing of his albums. Still sick guitar player. Like wtf how
Hello you there Dion Tillman here,,I used to InTouch live in tough neighborhoods Autumn pretty are looking pretty tough neighborhood anyway I had this playing in my car and they didn't know what to think
Yngwie's live performances have gone better the last few years..Which is a plus. And seeing the rest of the band in at least a more "central" position on stage is encouraging as well. That "naughty corner" nonsense of the past was just terrible....Still the guy that made me wanna practice like a madman so, I owe him everything guitar wise. Him, and Marty Legend Friedman.
he was a totally different animal in the early to mid 80's when he actually played songs instead of just showing off, japan 85' check it out if you haven't yet, I think thats his most iconic and straight up badass portrayal of what would become legend..

I appreciate the technical abilities that he has but I need more melody in my music. Probably why I prefer Satriani or even Steve Lukather (not just his playing with Toto but his solo material).
@@brin57 I will take your word for it. I just know I've heard the description of this type of playing as "technical" or "technique over feel". This music is not for me but as with all music, if you like it and it moves you then cool.
He’s like if you want to play in my band remember that we don’t use monitors and it don’t matter what you play cause with my massive amp setup no one is gonna hear you anyway including yourself. All kidding aside good to see him still rockin 😀
I think this guy is an incredible guitarist in his own right. He is definitely an innovator as well. The only problem for me and I am 62 years old and I have been playing guitar since I was six, is that most of his music sounds the same after a while. As a jazz fusion guitar player, my ears long for, a more melodic diversity. Again, I think he’s fantastic. But if you listen to someone like Mateo Mancuso, who can literally do anything, and is so good at speaking to the chord changes, that is when my spirit flies. That doesn’t take anything away from this guy. It’s just my preference. Cheers!
Whatever one thinks of him and his playing (rather brilliant I’d say), at least he can be heard over the backing - in a live setting. Most modern guitarists, of any style, seem to be virtually drowned out by drummers and a sort of bassy rumble noise.
He's fantastic, one of a kind like Holdsworth. Reminds me of Procol Harum in the chord changes- he should have played for them and made great music😁.. But really, all those Marshalls?😆
Yngwie himself has joked that there are only two man-made objects visible from space, the Great Wall of China and his wall of Marshalls. More is more, he seems to love excess like that for a show.
5 minutes of this and I'm out the door. The Marshalls stacked behind him are the perfect metaphor for what he does musically. The hoary 80s hair band tropes, the hair tosses, the backward prancing when the passages get heavy, and most of all, kicking pics off the toe of his boot... It's wankerisms on the scale that Liberace did with sequins, diamonds and fur. Finally... being confronted with Yngwie's leather trussed "package" is revolting.
I think he's terrified of falling between the gaps in his notes. He's been doing this for 45 years so he ain't changing any time soon. He needs a bong and an acoustic!
He’s amazing in every way. He won’t be completely appreciated in his lifetime. Rick Beato just did a wonderful interview with him.
That was the best interview they both were part of. Stellar.
Great interview. He is one of a kind.
...except songwriting.

I love how this guy never changes. Same hair, Ferraris, same pants, same crazy number of Marshall’s. He is his own man.
Rolex watches..
The Marshalls are fake. Decoys.
@@MIZORAM_mafaka_hnamte lol ya
He used more picks in the first song than I've used in my 30 years of playing.

Cant he play something else..something not classical shit
Malmsteen will never get the credit he deserves for his songwriting. People always just think of his solo playing and how that impacted the world and not his insane library of absolute CLASSIC songs!
Absolutely, he's a great composer, not only a performer.
Him and George and Paul G r the 3 last remaining legends. Amazing Video.
I-l ascult inca din adolescenta pe Ynwie de peste 40 ani , este cel mai tare și bun chitarist din toate timpurile!!!!!!, Bravo lui!!!!!!!!!!
He should place the band behind the amps. More room for more amps!
Hes the band 😎👌
We need more Cow Bell
More room then for more him

Saw him in August in DC area…. Amazing….
I was at this show! Bar none best guitarist in the world!!! His pants were way too tight, but he’s an incredible talent, LOL!
It's because has to direct blood flow to his hands to get the desired speed.
😂
Once you passed a certain age it's time to put away the tight leather pants.
Are those Marshalls only for decoration?

Far beyond the sun is fantastic here!! YJM 👊👊🎸🎻SVERIGE!! 😎✌
Very nice playing!!!
He is a good guitar but it is a shame how he is so egotistical. He was always so demanding since the early days when he joined with Steeler.

You hear one of these solos you've heard them all.
I don’t think he has enough Marshalls. Still an unbelievable guitarist, though.
Most of them are fake or not even connected or on. But where are the amps for the Bass Player?😂😂😂🤘🎸👍
Yeah, unbelievably bad.
He even has one for a cup holder !
I wonder if they all go to 11.
@@petedambski3792 I think they go to 12, because he wants to have one more than Spinal Tap...🎞️🤣🤣
13:01 was insane, couldn't be pulled off better.
Never heard our national anthem like that, that would be great to hear you play that at a stadium 🏟️ here. To hear you live , that would be cool 😎✌️🔥🎸

Over 50 Marshall heads onstage. How many used? 1-2?
Is there a pre recorded backing track or whatever you call it?

Do you think he has enough Marshalls? I think many are simply not in line (just for visual effect.)
DANG!
Amazing ,but both times I've seen him I was over it after 15 minutes
yea. It all sounds the same after 10 minutes and yes he's a great player but no one rides alone and wins battles.
Maybe the problem you have selected hearing or maybe tone deaf 😂
Technique is not enough. Meganotes is not music after ten solid minutes. Need space between the notes
@@jerrygirardiok sure what ever you say, after 10 minutes you don't get it you will never get it, peace 😂
Ten minutes was good but then I’m done and ready for music
Yngwie is such a virtuoso that his band must feel like they're in the Witness Protection program.
Are these huge amounts of marshall amps just decoration?
He is one very large dude. Just saw an interview where he dwarfed a 6 foot plus man. A giant in many ways!
I remember doing bong hits and listening to rising forces for the first time...lol
