  • Quickguide:
    For Laserengraving Mirror Tiles with the K40 i use the following settings:
    For removing parts of the Backside coating:
    Engraving Mode @ 100mm/sec
    Power: 15mA
    Defocussed Beam (4 mirror heights)
    For engraving outlines to the Front- or Back-side i use:
    Cutting Mode @ 8mm/sec
    Power: 15mA
    Regular Focussed on the Workpiece

    I am new to K40 and have been trying to get better results engraving wine glasses. I'm going to try bring my rotary closer out of focus and slowing down like you did here.

    I'd be interested to see what it looks like if you paint the back after engraving? I'm thinking it may make the residue less noticeable....

      Si, graver la face marche aussi mais c’est plus beau de derriere illuminee avec des LED’s. Si tu engrave la face tu vas avoir un double dans le mirroir ce que peut etre un effet interessant si voulu ;)

    Get some Ferric nitrate crystals and give that a try...
    Having said that, the effect isn't half bad already!

    What would happen if you just do one pass from the back, flip everything more or less 180degrees and hit the resedue from the front with the Laser again

      CO2 Lasers can't penetrate glass. So you would engrave the front of the mirror
