    I've done it twice. The hardest part obviously is the wiring merge. My brother tackled the merge in my 2000 RS ej205 swap. I wire did the one in my 98 Forester Ej205 swap.

    I’m hopefully on the last few steps of my “ej205” swap, if your willing to tear down your stock engine and put some goodies in it to take boost and turbo the stock ej253 (if yours has that) you would get a better performance per dollar. If you do decide to go the route of swapping it’s very involved and really not worth it in comparison to buying a wrx, unless wrx are insanely expensive or you value the experience of learning the ins and outs of your car. During this process you’ll also end up having the option to put a very little amount of stock parts on which often will be cheaper, it was cheaper to get a full 3inch catless exhaust then find the stock one on the hard market, so likely you will end up having a car that out performs the wrx by a lot.

    Interesting video. Doing this to my current GX is probably my best option. Finding a 02-06 WRX that hasn't been absolutely flogged and has been well looked after is just unheard of here in Australia. So it's very likely it'd be my best option to do it this way. Thanks for the pointers and insight on how you did it.

      Mine's a white sedan. Same thing just rolled over 300,000kms and can tell that soon its either sell or commit to a full rebuild like this. It's good to know that there's people out there who turn NA subies into turbo'd ones. Most people think you're crazy and should just buy a flogged WRX or STi for nearly double what'd cost to more or less make one yourself.@@xen5h4d0w

    Winter projects...ah, those were the days. I've been studying my car for s few weeks now; trying to think of an eye-popping idea or three to mildly customise my ride. I've come to the conclusion that my Lexus GS300 is just as it should be. So it's staying plain silver with a tiny bit of window work, (not a full tint), and a refurb job on the wheels and that's all.
    I've got a very nice Mercedes-Benz C220 Esprit auto which I'm going to sell. Then I'll find another JDM to bring up to standard for meets and shows. I'll need to "borrow" a wirkshop, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
    Great video, I'm looking forward to more.keep 'em rollin' 😀🏁

    Hi James, nice hard work, I have done an Impreza n/a automatic 1.6 ts swap to a WRX at a great friend garage so everything works fine now except the 4eat same old transmission is working just on 3 gears after using the D drive or fourth gear it will stall and slow the car instead of pushing it, so please what AT transmission swap should you advise to solve this problem like forester as you mentioned in your video ? and should I buy it with its computer too. Thank you in advance.

    • @ColoradoStreaming
      @ColoradoStreaming 7 месяцев назад

      The general consensus on forums like NASIOC is that its always cheaper and easier to just trade your car in for a WRX if you want a turbo. That being said I have a 2006 Impreza 2.5i and its a blast to drive. I actually have more fun driving it than my cousins WRX. Its pulls really well and the power is so controllable it makes back roads really fun. Make sure to get a 5 speed though because the automatics are soul crushing.
