I love these guys, I normally use them as crowd control & can shoot from pretty far away. I've taken out a few Jedi as a Droideka but it's incredibly situational. Popping you're overdrive right after your shield is an op combo especially when you have a health build.
You forgot to mention how op they are against heros, specifically saber heroes, all of their shots go through blocks and can shred them if you attack, retreat/hide, and then hit them right back. It is even more powerful when you have a friend doing it with you. I could probably 1v1 any saber hero in a large map.

dude let me tell you these things are the best units in the game im a level 1000 player with this bad boy. what i suggest is play some coop with them and learn how they play. then go on multiplayer and just shred

They are really annoying to kill when your a saber hero, as they keep rolling away Lol 😂
